Who has weak belief (commonly) Atheist? Theist?

I have seen many people finding God in a time of their life atlast; but i have never seen somone who believes on GOD for a long time, and, then loses Him, eventually?

An Atheist was a Thesit once? Or a Theist was an Atheist once? Or you were, what you are right now, from always!?

All are born atheist; babies have no religion. Most people are exposed to religion at a young age, before their reasoning facilities develop. Most atheists were once believers; nearly all were at least indoctrinated into a religion as children. Some of the most famous atheists, like Dan Barker, were even former preachers - and I know at least half a dozen ex-ministers who are now atheists.

I personally was raised Baptist, but it never really made sense to me - the more I looked and read, the less sense it made.

Usually those who "find god" are suffering from depression and seeking quick and easy answers. Religion offers those; correct answers is another matter.

It goes both ways. My husband was raised by an apathetic atheist, and was actually an atheist himself for most of his life. He attended a Pentacostal church for a short while when he was younger, but it just wasn't his thing. He is now a non-religious theist.

I, on the other hand, was raised in a Christian home. I became a skeptic when I was about five, and fully atheist when I was thirteen. I had MANY reasons for becoming an atheist. My main problem was that the entire Bible just seemed like a fairy tale to me. I kept my mind open, though, and kept searching. Long story short, I became a Christian almost nine months ago.

Most people who become atheists after spending some time as a Christian do so right around the age of fourteen or fifteen. Some do become atheists later in life, but it's rare. It just all depends on the person. It goes both ways.

I took it for granted that there was a god when I was young because that's what I was told. I was read the kids bible stories and all even though we didn't go to church. Once I was grown and actually tried to read the bible I saw how ridiculous it was. I decided to research where it came from, where the stories originated from. It's like christians think it feel from the sky. Once I learned more about history, and mythology, dating back to Ancient times I didn't understand how anyone could believe it. Plus when you see that they reject scientific proof of things they don't believe, well how blind can you be?
Now that I have a child, I homeschool . I teach him the christian myth along with the Greek, Roman, and Egyptian ones.

I think you're approaching the question from the wrong direction, as I think there are people on both sides who have poor reasons for their belief. It isn't who has the weaker belief, but who has the best reasons for their beliefs. I think one should compare the best arguments for each side and go from there.

The general patter goes:

Atheist (born) --> theist

(85% of America is like this)

Sometimes we have an:

Atheist --> theist --> atheist

(most atheists like this)

Rarely is there an:

Atheist --> atheist --> theist

or an

Atheist --> theist --> atheist --> theist
born--------family------rebel------convert

I've seen it go both ways. Actually, I see people lose their faith much more often than gain it.

I stopped believing in God around the same time I stopped believing in Santa Claus, so one could say I never really believed in the first place.

ALL humans are born Atheist.

It is down to the society they are raised in, and their individual ability to see reality, as to if, how and why they are brainwashed into a religion/cult.

Everyone starts off atheist. Personally I was indoctrinated into a religion, but fortunately I had enough of an education to realize there is no God.

I confessed myself to god, got down on my knees and prayed for his forgiveness and was baptized.
Then one day, I woke up and started to think for myself.
I believe that god does not exist.

Actually, if you think about it... we're born atheists and indoctrinated into some church, usually by our parents. So I guess I've come full circle.

I see alot of people stop beieveing in God when a loved one dies or somehthing bad happens in their lives. They blame God for what happened. What they dont get is God has reasons for everything and they are always for the good so dont get mad and stop believeing just wait and see what he has planned for you.
