He asked: ‘Am I not (your Lord)?’ and you responded: ‘Yes!’

How can one thank Him for that ‘yes’? By suffering misfortunes!

What is the mystery of that 'yes'? It is that you say:

‘I am a slave in chains in the abode of poverty and perishing.’

What has he found who has lost God?

And what has he lost who has found God?

Good tidings await those who are seen (by others) as strange and outlandish (because of their Islamic beliefs)!

Do you know what ‘sama’ (whirling in ecstasy) is?

It is to enjoy permanence in absolute annihilation of the self.

that's like thanking a fish for swimming, or a bird for flying, or any other fact of nature. God simply is, thanking it for being is unnecessary.

how can you not. How can you possibly not know that he created you and loves you and will take care of you and help you every step of your way, how could you NOT thank him?

For all He has done for you and is going to do for you. He wants us to love all and help all that we can. To make our lives and other as pleasant as we can.Doing these things is what He wants us to do, That would please Him and that is all the thanks He wants is harmony..God Bless
