All you are going to get in here is guess work. No one can really diagnose what is causing you to be tired. There are so many things that could be causing it. Any one of them could cause the same symptoms. Relying on medical advice here may cause you to ignore a more serious viral or bacterial problem that if left unchecked could land you in the hospital. I wont go into how costly that could turn out to be. So save yourself a bundle and set an appointment with a professional physician. Pronto!

Lots of good answers already! 7-8 hours of sleep is enough for some people but some people actually need a little bit more than that. I have a friend who just isn't rested unless she gets 9 hours a night. I also have had tiredness in the past due to low iron, and also marginally low thyroid. Also, low blood sugar, especially after eating candy which would cause it to plummet lower making me very sleepy. I now take Chromium Picolinate supplements (400mcg daily) which a natural doctor recommended and it really smoothes out my blood sugar. My brother cut way back on processed flour and sugar and got loads more energy. And even though it seems like it would make you more tired, good aerobic exercise, even an nice 20-30 minute walk a day, really peps you up; gets the blood and oxygen flowing!

Try some of the simple diet and exercise things that people have suggested, as well as maybe sleeping "better" and a bit longer and see if they help. If you're still tired all the time, then start checking with doctors to see if there's an underlying medical cause.

Good luck!

You should try getting a little more sleep each night. I know that I personally need at least 10 hours most nights. It's just how I always was, a lot of people are like that. Make sure you do moderate exercise for at least 20 minutes five days a week. If none of that is helping, you should definetly get to your doctor and tell him/ her how you're feeling. They should give you a few blood tests to determine if you have anything wrong such as anemia or low iron or whatever else could be causing you to feel so tired. If none of that helps, maybe it is something psychological. Time to move onto a new professional.

do you sleep, or do you toss and turn all night? might have resless leg syndrome, and your not getting the rem sleep you need to restpre your energy,. You could also have Sleep Apnea, and even though you go to sleep, you once again are not getting the rem sleep to restore to body. other simple things, how is your diet? fast food, alot of soda etc? are you getting any exercise, such as walking at work or when home? the Human body does not get tired if it is dosile all day, we need to expend energy to get good sleep. Gotalot of stress, not normal everyday things, but loss of a spouse through death or divorce? a break up or a death i nthe family? lost your job? finanical major problems? no spiritual life? few social contacts? all these can wear you down, and no matter the sleep you get, your still tired. try a change of pace, mix up your routine, do some light stretching, go for a few laps around the block and get some fresh air. get away from your computer, this ahas proven to be detrimental to sleep habits as well. limit yourself to 2 hours per day.

There are numerous medical conditions that have tiredness as a symptom. You want to talk to your primary care physician and get a blood test to rule in or out various conditions.

If you are female with menstrual periods, it could be something as simple as anemia or low iron. Sometimes physical problems can bring on a second condition such as depression as being tired all of the time is not fun.

There are a lot of factors here.....
1.) Do you drink a lot of pop & eat a lot of sugar?

2.) Do you excersise?

3.)Do you drink enough water?

4.) What kinds of food are you eating?

I was this way when I was 27. I ate the normal american diet of pop, double stuffs, mcdonalds, doritoes etc. Then I started drinking more water, eating organic foods, watching my sugar intake and within 2 weeks I had more energy than I could have ever imagined. I am now 34 and I feel like I am 23. I also look younger than I used to.

There is such a thing as getting too much sleep! Try creating some things for you to do when you start to get sleepy during the day. Everyone has an amount of sleep that is right for them, you seem to be struggling to find yours. Try getting up when you are just laying in bed not sleeping. Also DO NOT read in bed, it just makes your body more tired and used to not sleeping when you do go to bed.

try doing some moderate exercises. These will help keep you motivated and also bring your fitness levels back up . Maybe your a little bit underworked and need some stimulation- at least if you exercise then you know when you go to sleep you have encouraged your body to do something first.

if you don't reach that final stage of sleep, you can sleep for 10hrs and still wake up tired. I would schedule a sleep study with a lung specialist. It could be a simple fix.

I sleep with a CPAP portable breathing machine. It makes you fall into that final stage of uninterrupted sleep. 4hrs feels like a full nights sleep.
