I did a little checking on the TSA website and I can't make out if my contact lens fluid, which is stored in a a opaque large 500ml bottle is allowed. Does it count as a saline solution or what? I don't want to have to pour it into 3 oz bottles...what is a 3 oz bottle you crazy non-metric people???

You won't be allowed to bring that big bottle of solution on the plane. And I really don't know where you can go buy a 3 ounce bottle so I would suggest buying the rewetting eye drops they make for contact lenses. It's not contact lens fluid but its good enough to get you through the flight.

The three ounce bottle thing is for carry-on liquids. That goes for anything liquid like, as in toothpaste (a gel), mouthwash, and even things like blistex which squeezes out of a tube. The liquids you carry on must be in clear bottles and those bottles are supposed to be in a plastic bag. The rules are for passengers boarding in the US. There may be different rules where you board.

3 oz. = 88 ml. You can take the larger bottle in your check in luggage but only 3 oz. containers can be carried on. Trust me - they are very strict about this. Don't think you can slip it by.

Put the amount you will need while on the plane in a small container and put the rest in your checked bag.
