Here's your best bets:
Several companies make concealment holsters that hide the small frame revolver or automatic INSIDE your shorts,
...right in front of your "equiptment", so to speak.
They are made of reinforced stretchy material similar to a jock strap.
There are also "belly-band" holsters that hold a small handgun against your body using a girdle-like belt.
these are very effective, but kinda hot to wear.
(but they DO give you that youthful, trim waistline...)
There's always "fanny-pack" holsters and "organizer"-"fake laptop" holsters too, but the first looks goofy and the second invites the risk of laying down your gun and walking off without it...a serious liability issue.
Run a search using the tag "concealment holsters", to view these and perhaps other options.

I am a retired police officer, I have carried a concealed weapon for more than30 years without it being seen once. You must have a concealed weapons permit to legally carry a firearm concealed. There are a number of ways to carry safely. You need to match your needs to the type of weapon you carry, and no one guns fits all needs. A small framed snub nose .38 spcl in a pocket holster in your front pants pocket is easy to carry, but a little slow to draw. I carry a Para ordinance "nitehawg" which is a very small compact .45 acp pistol. It holds 10 rounds of .45 ACP And I wear it in an inside the waistband holster. I can actually wear it with just a colored tshirt on and no one can see it ( I'm large bodied though) Other options are shoulder holster, ankle holster ( which I never recomend, it's too hard to get to in an emergency) or they have nylon belt paks like fanny paks or some that resemble cell phone cases for smaller firearms. Again, just like no one firearm works for all needs, neither does just one holster work for all situations. My wife, who also has a CCW, carries hers in either a shoulder holster under a business suit, in a fanny pak, or a specially designed purse with a hidden holster. But, the trouble with that is, she can never set the purse down and just leave it. And, if she gets mugged and the purse stolen, they get her firearm too. That's why I alway say, use a system that keeps the firearm with you at all times. As for workplace carry, you need to read your employee handbook carefully. If it says you can not carry a firearem in the workplace. You can't. If it is not addresed in the policy or in writing, You may carry, but do not let anyone, and I mean anyone know you are carrying. Don't forget the moral implications of carrying too. It means that you are willing to take a human life in an emergency. This means not only living with that fact for the rest of your life, but also facing possible criminal charges, civil law suits that may bleed you of all finances or end you up in prison if you were in the wrong. Even if in the right, you can still face criminal charges from some over zealous district attorneys, or civil action by the bad guy or his family. Make sure you have a lot of liability insurance and a good attorney. Maybe too, you should consider some non leathel defense equipment, like pepper spray, a taser gun, or self defense training.

Every state is different, and some of the laws make no sense whatsoever. In my state your workplace may not restrict your right to carry your concealed weapon. With a CCL you can carry on school property (but don't dare have a pocket knife). Your state will have a whole set of laws about when and how. There are several small 9mm and 40 cal that are easily concealed, even under shorts and tank tops--provided they're not really tight (a belly band holster comes to mind). So go to local law enforcement and firearms dealers to figure out what you can do.

I have an inside the pant holster that clips onto the pants. I don't think you mentioned your caliber, but mine is a Glock Model 22 (.40 cal) and I can wear my inside the pant holster with shorts and a t-shirt and it isn't noticed. I bought mine at a gun show in Indy so it has no brand. I know that Uncle Mike's makes some holsters of the same design. I also have a friend that has what is basically a large elastic band that goes around his waist and also wears a t-shirt without it being noticed. I work at a school and am definately not able to bring the gun into the school so I just leave mine in my truck, with the truck locked of course.

I do have a ccw permit. And do not carry a gun all the times.
When I do it is a small zipped pouch. Goes on my belt. The gun is a short barreled 9mm semi. Light weight. Easy to carry and access.
State law says the gun must to totally concealed. Nothing exposed. And also has several restrictions as to where a ccw cannot be carried.
Such as
Schools
Liquor stores
Bars
Sporting events
Government office building. To include state, federal and county
Penalities are very severe if you are carrying without the proper permit. Or in a non designated area.
And any and all business's can place a sign stating "no concealed wepons allowed"
To obtain you have to have passed a background check. Attended a course that covers the regulations-and attend hands on shooting at a range.
You will be issued(if all goes well) a card stating you have a ccw permit. Or can have ccw placed on your drivers license.
Of course you can elect to ingnore the permits. And when caught be prepared to spending less than nice days and nights locked up when some rather bad people!

It's actually not that hard. You probably just need a smaller gun. I use a Taurus PT22 pistol sometimes and sometimes a S&W model 642 snubnose revolver in .38 special. If I wear khaki shorts both guns, easily fit in the pocket of the shorts. Both also fit easily in the cell phone pocket of a pair of pants. Sometimes I use an off-duty police holster---it's a velcro waste band that you wear underneath your shirt. You can comfortably conceal almost any handgun with it. Usually, for conceal carry it is best to buy a real small gun, like a little snubby or a small frame pistol. Taurus has lots of both.

I've packed a hand gun all my adult life. I think if I didn't have one on, I'd list to one side. . .
I tried almost all ways to carry, from shoulder holsters to ankle holsters. I learned several things. Large guns are hard to conceal, carry a small gun. Carrying the gun in akward places (ankle, thigh, butt crack) is counter productive. A draw from concealed carry is slow enough without putting the gun out of reach. Light guns are easy to carry but beat you up with recoil.
I carry a Taurus 745, .45 ACP, 6+1 shots, semi auto. I use a DeSantis IWB holster for it. I also still carry, on occassion, my S&W 940, a J-frame (small), 5 shot, 9mm revolver. I use a cheap pocket holster I bought on E-Bay, and carry it in my pants pocket.
I tried those plastic paddle holsters for my J-frame and my full size duty weapon (Colt 1911). I was at the range practicing the draw with the new paddle holster. On about the fifth draw the gun hung up in the holster, there was a snapping sound and the gun came up with the holster! The paddle broke! With the 1911, I was out of uniform, but working a detail, and was carrying the 1911 in a paddle holster. My partner and I got a call. I jumped in the passenger side of the patrol car and as I swung my ample butt to the seat the butt of my gun caught the door frame, another snapping sound and my gun and holster were lying on the ground. I don't use plastic paddle holsters anymore.

As long as you are a law-abiding adult and have acquired a CWP from your state, there are several ways to carry concealed, even in hot weather. I am a large frame guy, and my favorite carry is somewhat unorthodox, but it works. I carry a full-size H-K USP .45 ACP in an oversize 'butt-pack'. When walking or sitting, I can carry it either around the waist, or in the best position, strapped crossways across my chest, like a military shoulder holster.
As long as you obey the laws, method of carry is as varied and diverse as the individual.
And if you work for some second rate burger or taco joint that refuses to recognize your Second Amendment rights, find a better job!

I do not work for a pro-gun or anti-gun or anything type company. In Montana we tend to mind our own business and let the other person mind theirs. Most people here carry in holsters under a shirt or jacket; either hip or shoulder type. You can carry a small auto or chiefs special in an ankle holster quite easily; but not while you are jogging; then you just stick it in your fanny pack.

When its hot and I'm in shorts and a tee I carry a keltec p3at 380 cal, in a pock sleeve holster. and as long as your shorts are not tight, the gun does not "print" and you would not be able to tell it was there. Over wise I pack the biggest gun I can conceal up to and including my issued duty gun, Glock model 22 (in the winter when a coat is common wear).
As to our employer, well that's between you and them. I'm fortunate not to have this problem as they would consider me out of uniform if I didnt carry.
