If you've been gaining muscle mass, then your weight won't go down, as muscle weighs more than fat.

Try eating more protein like chicken, or eggs, and cut down on fats (if you haven't already).

Maybe try going for a walk every now and then.

Well, I'm not a doctor, or a nutritionist, but here's a couple of observations:

1) As you're 13, you're probably about to go through a growth spurt pretty soon. Your body is trying to "store up" for the upcoming effort; and you ought to let it, in my opinion. You can start thinking again about losing weight when you're 40. :o/

2) You're worried about weight, but are you fat? You sound pretty active, and so much of that weight may be muscle rather than unhealthy weight. Don't worry about what the scale says so much as what your waistline tells you.

3) Everyone will tell you, you need your fruits and veg; so you really should make an effort there. (I'm hardly the one to be lecturing, though.) At your age, in fact, you need a lot of *everything*; so go check out that pyramid chart on the cereal box, and see what gaps you need to fill in.

However, the best advice I can give is to go see your doctor -- or your school nurse -- who'll be happy to give you proper advice on how to eat and whether you should worry about your weight. As I said, you're at an important stage of growth right now, and proper nutrition is far more important than calorie-counting.

Follow-up: As a reality check, I looked up the BMI (Body Mass Index) for your height and weight, and it's 25.4; which is *slightly* above the high end of normal for an adult. So you're not even overweight, except on a technicality. And considering your age and activity level, it really does seem quite normal. So my short advice is, relax and eat an apple.

I don't necessarily think you're overweight, because you are on the brink of a huge growth spurt. 148 is hard on 5'4, but what if you grew 4" in the next year. 148 on a 5'8 is not so bad.

You know how to lose weight. We all do. Burn more calories than you take in.

Eat as healthily as you can, and keep moving. Get a pedometer and put it on your shoe. Make sure you take 10,000 steps every day. You will lose, you will grow, and you'll be beautiful from the inside out.

Hey grill-grin
You, my fine feathered friend are in that "zone" that IS a major headache for the sliming and toning "thing"

You are growing !! That's what teenagers do a lot of !! And, as you grow -- you're going to ADD weight -- plain and simple !! But, at the same time -- if you are too heavy -- you tend to notice that (unless you are anorexic -- and then -- you don't notice hardly anything ELSE)
SO -- you have to get your mind off the actual weight thing here and start focusing on the toning !!! That is why you are experiencing this up and down "thing" you're talking about here -- your body is growing -- but, you are dieting and excercising -- so you see added weight happen in spite of these things !!!
Place your thoughts on what you are SEEING with the result in the TONING and actual shape of your body -- this will be a MUCH better indicator for you to work with !!

And, on those vegatables and fruits --- it would be a great idea to start working them into this regiment that your on --- they will help immensely in the trimming and toning for you !!!

Hope this helps------and the best of luck to you

Oh, and sorry about the "grill-grin" thing -- that's what they called my sister when she had HER braces !!!!

maybe you should try to eat more fruits and vegetables and try to get out every day right after you eat and jog a mile or two. time yourself each time and watch yourself improve. later on try to run instead of jog it will help if u. stick to this every day and youll see the difference. also dont fill yourself up when you eat and try to have fruits for dessert instead of icecream or sweets. and remember NO FAST FOOD!!
