How about, Cosmopolitan says or Penthouse says or Harry Potter says. Why is it always "the bible says"?

Will you pay me even if I was already practicing that non-religion? I could use the extra cash. It says in Ridiculous 12:14 "Thou shalt start a new religion and pay all others to follow." Or was that in Playboy? No, no, The National Geographic. I think.

People use that because they believe it and it makes sense. They just don't explain why it does or how relevant the Bible is even to modern life. Would you really want to listen to what Cosmo or Penthouse says? The finished product would not look so good....and Harry Potter doesn't say anything.
I am a Christian because it makes sense to me. It tells you how to love like no other and to love those who hate you. It tells you how to be a selfless giver and not to judge others by the outward appearance. It tells you how to be more spiritual instead of more base and carnal. I have met a (few) Godly women in my life and it is very attractive. One was in total control of everything she said, she never talked about people behind their backs, she was extremely smart, quiet but confident and she would only whenever she spoke it was something important, not talking about American Idol, cosmo, or someone elses' relationship. Just being around someone like that you can feel a different presence. That's the Holy Spirit living within them. They seem different cause they are.

I do enjoy the Bible and life as I know it! Why do you assume that everybody experiences life like you do? Why is your view of the bible supposed to be the only one allowable? Available?
Without God and His word, I would have committed suicide long ago. That's what He got me out of and with a whole lot of bells and whistles!
So I would not project my attitude on you, you live your convictions. I will live by mine.
