I need to get a turntable and I need some advice!?

I need to change my vinal records into mp3 files and i have no idea where to start from( what kind of turntable should I get etc...) Can you please help!

I have seen them advertised where they are made to plug into your computer. Cyber Guys and Extreme Geek (same company group) carries this. They are on line. Also the way I did it was from turntable through my stereo to tape, then into computer. If it is a newer turntable, you would need a per-amp for the magnetic cartridge.
