Same Last Name Marriage

Names change all the time. It is bad to think such insignificant stuff matters. If you look different, your phenotype, then you are genetically different. The names all got changed as government officials began to organize people for modern societies. There is no way to find out with certainty what the origins of any family name is. Bribes are paid. Rules are broken. People have their own reasons for changing names. It is all in flux. What are you worried about?

So my friend fell in love and decided to marry this guy. His last name was the same as her mother's maiden name but they thought nothing of it. At their wedding they were suprised to find out that they were indeed related (they noticed when members of her family showed up and knew members of his family). It turns out they are third cousins, which, while it is legal, is a bit disconcerting. Moral of the story: you may want to do your homework just incase.

It only means the wife doesn't have to have her named changed on her driver's license, social security etc.

Actually, if a person wants to make romance a second fiddle, the best thing to do is to be careful marrying anyone with the same certain generic problems. Now, you can't rule out everything. If there is epilepsy or Tay Sachs in both of your direct family lines, you have a very good chance of having a child with epilepsy and Tay Sachs.
Actually, you have a better chance than an epilectic themselves. Tay Sachs, a child isn't going to live long enough to have children.

Not a problem. Only time I have ever seen this become a problem is when they not only share the surname but the Christian name as well........knew of a girl named Robin who married a guy named Robin and they also shared the same surname prior to marriage as well. That was truly weird.

Do not bother about the name . You have many items to be bothered why do you go and break your head for the sake of Name. In Mahabharata many names are look alike. There will be slight difference and which I and You can not identify . Similarly in the name you can find the meaning whatever way you want. Do not bother about the name . Yours VRVRAO

now just how great is THAT! no getting a new drivers license, no changing data for the IRS or social security, or those initials on luggage, or notifying creditors of a new name..cool...as long as not a blood relative, enjoy the ease of transition.

As Franklin Roosevelt told his fifth cousin, Eleanor Roosevelt, upon proposing marriage, "Think of your stationary."

Of course, even if you have the same last name, that doesn't mean that you are related to each other.
