I expect there are many Christians who do not believe in him either. It is a pity. Somewhere inside all of us is a wish to sometimes suspend disbelief. I once asked my grandmother why Father Christmas brought presents to children (I was very young at the time) and she answered so gently: "because he loves them". I found this answer in some way deeply satisfying. Where there are little children and where there is love, Father Christmas is not far away.

Oh i do try so hard to believe in Father Christmas - I do try - for his loving and giving. But as the words of the song says 'I woke with a yown at the first light of dawn and saw him and through his disguise.'
I find is so hard to believe in myths even if they are 2000 years old.

Father Christmas doesn't exist. I have friends who are theists and they think the idea of Father Christmas is ludicrous.
