I have never understood that logic either.
But I've wondered if this part of doctrine developed in reaction to other religions Christianity was replacing when it spread. If actual human sacrifice was still taking place, then Christianity offered converts an alternative. If there were people were used to the idea of sacrifice as part of religion, then a substitute that didn't hurt anyone was certainly better.
But what I don't understand is why human beings still need to be attached to the idea of someone else being sacrificed for their sake.

No.I tel you a story. An king gives to his people some commandments........who don't keep them will be punished, that is the law. One day the mother of king don't keep the commandment1. People look at the King to see what he will do. The king said, my mother for what she did, must be punished, because the law must be completed. ...But the king said my mother is very old to survive after that punishment, so I will be punished in her place. So the law will be completed and my mother will live,,,,,,, and will learn to don't be wrong in the future.
In the same way God Father, comes on Earth in our humanity with His Divinity in Hid Son JESUS Christ God , for complete the law , in the mankind place.
God don't want to change the law, because (I understand from I read...) one day the bed must be punished... about this law too.
Don't close God in our mind, just believe in God. Read more on......Jnsr..... site.

God is in 3 forms: Father, Son, Holy Ghost. Just like H2O comes in liquid, gas, and solid. That's how he sacrificed himself to "himself". As for the rest of your question, sounds like you need a bit more understanding of the belief.

One of the great Christian philosophers Aquinas (author of the 5 famous proofs) said that he preferred Christianity because it made absolutely no logical sense. Somehow this proved that it must be spiritually true.
I agree with half of his argument.

No, you have it wrong, friend.
He does not say you can execute your kids for cursing you.
He sacrificed His Son so that we would no longer be under the law of the Old Testament. We do not have to make sacrifices in order to be forgiven for our sins, because Jesus did it for us.

If you had read the old testament then you would know why Jesus had to be sacrificed to reinstate the covenant that had been broken
