I have always wanted to live in or around NYC but I understand that the cost of living is sky high. how long is the drive from albany to NYC. Is it expensive to rent an apartement in albany?

Went to University at Albany...
Yo can get a nice 1 br. for $650-$800
But it's not close at all..in no traffic it's about 3 hours..but if you get stuck on the thruway and in the Bronx..it can take almost 5 hours.
not at all practical if you want to live in NYC

Albany is not as expensive to live in as compared to NYC. However, it is NOT a feasible commute, as Albany is about 140 miles from NYC - making it a 3-4 hour drive on a good day.

With the traffic, it could take more than a few hours. It's not expensive in Albany.

its about 3 hours to get from albany to new york. i don't think its expensive.
