No. Definitely no.

Much cheese these days is produced on an industrialsed basis and is not quite, as the Germans say 'echt' - as we British say, it ain't quite right, mate. Essentially, things are added to the cheese that would not be added in the natural production, which can limit the life of cheese. If it is mouldy, dump it.

Don't scrape off the mould. Bacteria will multiply, and will send down tenuous tendrils an inch into the cheese.

Cheddar is not Stilton - the blueness in Stilton is due to an induced, friendly culture of bacteria. Cheddar should not be blue.

All the No answers are rubbish, Just use a potato peeler to scrape of the mould and it is as good as new. In fact the cheese seems to taste better. That's the good thing about cheese it lasts.

I have been cutting the mould off for years honestly don't waste food.

Uhm well yeah cheddar cheese is based by the process of mould BUT really I think just looking at it would put me off eating it if it's got green gungy bits on it! Let's be fair a new block of cheddar really isn't gonna break the bank is it... or are you jus tooo lazy to walk down to the nearest shop lol x

scrape off the mould and eat, tastes like jam... I was fed this back in 1940 when meningitis was a certain killer and antibiotics were still to be invented. Well I'm still here..........

I've seen shopkeepers scraping cheese clear and re wrapping in the same clingfilm before putting it out on sale... The worst I saw was one who had a very long fingernail he used to dig out stubborn bits of mould. I reported him to the local authorities but they did nothing.........

It!s not even safe to sniff it let alone eat it. Dump the "mouldy" cheddar and give the "Dolcelatte" a wee try, this is safe mould, friendly and good for the digestion.

I think it would be ok to eat the cheese as long as you cut of the mold. Cheese is moldy milk, so it should be fine to eat after removing the green moldy parts.

Some people will say you can cut the mold off and eat the parts that aren't spoiled but I'm going to go ahead and say definitely don't eat it. You probably wouldn't die if you did but mold is basically bacteria taking over food that isn't fresh anymore, so I'd throw it away.

It's OK to eat cheddar - or any cheese that is moldy if you cut the mold off.
I can tell you with the utmost of confidence that it WILL NOT HURT YOU.

Just trim off the mold. It will taste sharper tho, with longer aging.

Mold creates cheese.
