Hi i was on this anti-depressant, taken off it and now put back on it. For the first 3 weeks i experienced extreme tiredness, so i used to take it at night going to bed but after that it started to affect my sleep so i had to take it in the mornings again and by that stage the tiredness wasn't;t as bad.
Now that i have just restarted them, i do feel the tiredness again but it will pass hopefully as its a side effect....even when i had been on them a month or so i still got the odd day where i as very drained and tired.
If you have been on Fluoxetine for longer than a month or so and this tiredness is not improving, it maybe an idea to talk to your Gp about it!
best of luck

I take fluoxetine and can honestly say i have never felt tired after taking one. Maybe you should have a word with your doctor as it could be a side effect you're experiencing.
I was previously on some tablets that made me feel woozy all the time so I was changed to Fluoxetine.

I take fluoxetine and, to start with, it made me feel drowsey. I could sleep until 4 in the afternoon even though i'd went to bed early.
My doctor said i should make it a priority to sort my sleeping pattern out because i was signed off work at the time.
I still get really sleepy, so i guess its the tablets. If its a major issue, talk to your doctor - they can change the tablets if needs be.
Good luck, and i hope you feel better soon.

Fluoxetine turned me into a supergenius! Only for a few hours, though.

I take them and feel very tired about 15 to 20mins after taking them but on a plus note I also have the decreased appetite which is defo doing me favours in the dieting. I have only been on them 6 days though and the longer I take them the more tired I seem to get :(

It says on my fluoxotine pill container "may cause drowsiness". Doctors said it makes some people sleepy. pharmacists or psychiatrists have the best answers, you should ask them. Asking different pharmacists helps alot because some pharmasicts don't seem very informative.

I think it's you. Usually fluoxetine-type meds cause decreased appetite and exitalbility or the feeling of being awake.
Check with your doctor.

I've taken it in the past. It takes a couple of weeks to kick in and I always felt lethargic and spaced out - but I liked it.
