The guy who knows I want a relationship with him but says he wants to be friends as a result of my nagging called me when he was drunk the other night and said straight off "I'm wondering why you call me hun and babes and darling in your text messages".

Why do you think he's even wondering or asking me this if he wants to remain friends?....He calls me alot & wants me to go see him for the weekend. But this question is playing on my mind as it makes me wonder why he's even asking me this question?! Because I only say it in messages, I don't verbally call him these words

I'm wondering too. You type the words in text messages, but don't say them when you're speaking to him. You're giving him mixed messages, and it confuses him.

Wether it in text messages or verbal the sentiment is the same. You are pushing for a relationship that the other person is not interested in. Since you know that your relationship is strictly "booty call" his question is valid.

A better question however would be: If want to be in a realtionship why force one with someone who only wants sexual contact with you? The results are destined to be disaturaous.

We have all expericed this at one time or another in our lives the trick is getting yourself through it with only minor cuts and bruises.

My advice, leave this guy alone. Take a sometime to figure out what you really want. You may find that it is not this guy that you want, but that you are just ready for a relationship in general.

Here's thought - the guy just wants to be "friends". Do you accept that? If you do, then stop calling him darling, hun & babe in your texts to him. If you don't do it in person, don't do it in text.

It seems to me that you don't want to accept being 'friends'. Try finding someone else that is willing or ready for a relationship and leave him alone. Because later down the line, if you keep hounding him to have a relationship, he might do it but only because you keep after him and not because he's falling in love with you......right?

Sounds to me that he is asking becuase he's not in to it.
If a man only wants to be friends, then be his friend. Don't keep trying, you'll only run him off. Stop texting those kind of messages. What are you nagging about? Maybe you should stop nagging, men don't like naggin' women. If you really want him, back off and she what happens.

Believe him the FIRST time when he said he only wants to be friends. You're putting the bait out there (hon, babe, snookums) and waiting to see if he will take it...He might, but he already told you it will not satisfy him for a meal..it's a snakc or a side dish..don't expect more and don't embarrass yourself. Spend your time being sweet to someone who likes that kind of candy. You're not his flavor, Tootsie.

People who want just to be friends don't want the overaffection of such words. They don't want to return those affections and think it's inappropriate for you to do so. They are put off and are ill-at-ease by you doing so. I know it's probably just a habit you picked up imitating your parents or someone close. And he knows you wanted a closer relationship that he doesn't want.

Platonic friendships don´t exist between young people of the opposite sex. As to the drunk part, remember the Roman saying"in vino veritas".

He is into you. He likes you and hopes that maybe it will progress into a relationship. He is sitting back and waiting for you to make the move so he doesn't look like he liked you while you were friends.

Maybe he thinks it's annoying when you always say it...or maybe he is unsure if this maybe means that you like him more as a friend or soemthing it must most probably be a false interpretation of him

you should ask him this ?

explain to him that you only do it in texts and you don't verbally say it when your on the phone so it doesn't mean anything.

when you see him ask him why he asked that question and find out if there's a problem

good luck in whatever you do
