an "African-American," eh? How does one explain the AMERICAN part?
I assume these are the same sort of scholars who said, "If English was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for us."

Jesus was an African American? Hahahahaha. So Jesus was a black man who lived in America? Hahaha what scholars have you been reading about?
Anyway, the Jews were not black. Abraham (i.e. the patriarch of the Jews) came from Mesopotamia, not Egypt. Aside from that, the Egyptians were not totally black. There were Pharaohs that looked East Asian, some that looked European, and many others. The early Egyptians really looked diverse.
Apart from that, Israel is not a part of Africa. Nor is it a part of Europe. It is in Asia. Jesus was more Asian than African or European.

"Most" biblical scholars? African-AMERICAN??
Gee, that's an amazing thing, since Jesus never came to America during His lifetime, unless you buy into the LDS theology.
And Jesus was a Semite, not African. His ancestry is Jewish, and would've had Middle-Eastern skin color and features, much like someone from Iraq, for example.

Jesus was African-American? But no one in the Old World knew of America back then, so how could he have been African-American?
Jesus was not Black, but he was not light-skinned either. He was a Jew from the Middle East, before the invention of sunscreen. He was most likely tan, but he was not of African descent.

There were no African-Americans at the time, and most Biblical scholars I have known have considered him Semitic. Jesus was a Jew from Israel. The Israelis were Semitic.
His message is what is important, but Jesus wasn't black. He was Semitic.

God's Word, the Bible, explains that Christ was "fair skinned." Meaning, he was far from "African-American" an ethnic group that didn't exist then. In fact, it still doesn't. Most people who call themselves "African-American" have never been to Africa! I have an "African-American" friend who IS from Africa and is caucasian!
Why can't Americans be JUST Americans, rather than having hyphenated tags?!
Christ wasn't black, he was fair skinned. He was a Jew, so he was darker than a caucasian, but lighter than most other Jews of His day.
He ALSO didn't preach "tolerance"! What do YOU think he was doing when he chased the money changers out of the temple? Would you call THAT tolerance?
God NEVER tolerates sin - of ANY kind!
Hope that answers your ridiculous question. LOL!!

American? Really?
I thought Jesus would be the "race" like we find in the Middle East. Today we find people that have lightly pigmented and "olive skinned" complexions and people with darkly pigmented complexions.
While Palestinians may have light complextions or dark complextions they are different from Africans

I am a Biblical scholar with a degree in Biblical studies and I haven't concluded this nor has any of my associates. But what difference would that make.

I doubt that *ANY* serious Biblical Scholars concluded that.. In fact I would venture to say that any *legitimate* scholar of *any* kind would roll on the floor laughing at that statement... You got his main message wrong too....

it probably bothers people because its total nonsense and anyone who actually brings it up is a racist focusing more on skin color than the message.
BTW his message is not tolerance and respect for all people. Its salvation from sin and Eternal life can be obtained through His sacrifice. Its that man can ovecome death and hell because of Christ.
So yeah its perfectly understandable that people who believe Christ are going to be upset when rather than listen to His message you change it and start race baiting for your own politicla agenda.

Umm How can he be he was a JEW? that is a fact not argued I'm not sure what scholars might have said that but its a well known fact. THe evidence is not just in the bible but in Roman documents as well as Jewish. He might have had dark skin but he was a Jew.
