And by filled I mean you fall down to the ground and shake like an epiliptic. By no means am I trying to disrespect, but this is the best description I could come up with. Anyways, why do so called spirit filled christians think that they are more spiritual than others? They claim that you have to act like that to prove you are saved, but scripture states that once a believer accepts Jesus into their hearts the spirit is with them from that point out. Oh, and where in the bible does it show that when you are filled with the spirit you act like that? I never saw it yet in MY bible. Thanks all for ur answers. God Bless.

i'm a christian. i've accepted Jesus into my heart - i call myself filled with the Spirit because i felt the Spirit fill me when i became a believer...not because of the stereotype that all we christians sprawl out on the floor spread eagle praying to God.
oh, and u might find an answer in Matthew 6.
hope i've helped.

I asked my chaplian the same thing and she said it all an interpertation if someone belives that jesus loves one person more then another they're crazy jesus and Gods love is devine and has no levels if you will he wont love sue any more then bob just because she says shes been saved. its rubish! My Belieft is that there are different types of relationships you can have with God and they all count and they all matter you have to do whats best for you.BTW the speaking in tongues and falling to the floor is garbage to i went to a church that did that and its like an act it makes the person feel closer to God they tried on me and i was totally ready to fall on the floor shaking like a leaf but nothing only a headache from the dude yelling in my ears !!

I received the gift of the Holy Spirit when I became a Christian. I have never drank poison, handled snakes, healed anyone or spoken in tongues. If the Lord wants me to be involved in any of those things, I am sure He will let me know. I have a great relationship with my Savior, speaking with Him several times a day.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree with you. I've never found it in the Bible. I've been told that when the power of God comes into contact with a mere human that the person falls out in the spirit.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit doesn't entail a seizure. LOL!! You must have attended a church similar to the United Pentecostal Church, if not that one in particular. It is considered a "Christian cult" and not mainstream Christianity.

People who have accepted Christ as their personal Savior and asked Him into their lives ARE filled with His Holy Spirit.

That's called be "slain in the HOLY SPIRIT" and that hasn't been my experience. In the Bible the Apostles felt "drunk" and had tongues of fire over their heads as they were filled with THE HOLY SPIRIT, they were given the gift of tongues and were able to speak to people of every language. I believe THE HOLY SPIRIT is still with me, and HIS presence works wonders, in showing me things which will come to be, and wonderous things around us, and showing me mysteries, helping me understand. Still we receive GRACE as we are ready to receive, not more nor less . .. we may receive more GRACE in the future when we are ready . .. but we recieve now that which we are ready to receive, and to GOD's purpose for us. If GOD wanted to use me as a communicator to the Russians, then GOD would give me the gift of knowing and communicating in Russian.

Accepting JESUS . .. in HIS FULLNESS means be part of HIS CHURCH . .. getting BAPTIZED eating of the HOLY EUCHARIST . .. and doing all those things which are Sacrements of the CHURCH . . . dispensation of GRACE in THE BODY OF CHRIST is through teh sacrements, and you recieve as much as you are ready to receive . ..

LOVE your nieghbor as yourself.
Amen.

I cannot watch that happen and not believe those people are dammed. Sorry, it's just the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. Fortunately it only happens to religious folks, I suppose that believing in good and evil makes you vulnerable to both.
