they say that catholics are wrong because what the teach isint in the bible (it is) but whats the big deal.

If people dont believe that every single word in the bible supports the evangelical worldview then your statements have no authority.

You can quote the bible all you like and my reponse could be that you are reading it wrong.

i could say you have the wrong truth and your faith in not that valid because of that.

after that you have no where to go.

a lot of what you belive goes against the bible and pastors twist it to make it fit their beliefs.

Way to many religions today pick out their favorite parts of the Bible and leave the rest alone. What is more unusually is to find one believing ALL the of the Bible.
The Catholic Church has removed parts of the Bible to keep people believing what they would like. Even the second commandment that basically says that God is a Jealous God and we are to pray to no one but God himself, the Catholic church removed.
King James Bible lovers, love it because King James ordered 400 words to have other meanings and about 1000 other words meanings have changed over the last 400 years; which makes it hard to understand it and the church leaders can cause lines to mean what they make up.
Use a modern translation so you can have the whole truth.

The Holy Bible was written by men INSPIRED BY GOD. In other words, it was written in the the Holy Spirit. All TRUE believers have the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, and are able to understand the Words of God Almighty, because that's why it was written that way.
We quote the Bible because we LIVE BY IT. Why do scientists always quote other scientists and science books? They certainly didn't go out and get all this information on their own. That would be impossible, wouldn't it? Yet, they believe what another man (or woman) says in these books. We believe the Bible to be the very Word of God, not men. I put my trust in God.
So, in response to your comments on "you can say we have the wrong truth", etc. It doesn't matter to me what you think or say about what I believe to be the truth. It only matters what I believe to be the truth, and that is God's Holy Word, the Bible.

Christians believe in the Bible and want very much to do what the Bible tells us to do...that is to go into the world and preach, there is a harvest of souls that we want to bring into the fold. Even if all the Bibles were taken away and burned, it would still be our light. It would be rewritten whole using those of us who are wise enough to memorize as much of it as we possibly can waiting for the day when our Bibles WILL be taken away. The only way pastors can twist the truth is if people just blindly listen and don't search the scriptures like we are told to do. People try to invalidate my faith every day but they never will. They're only hurting themselves.

It amazes me that this argument holds water with people.

The Bible was given by God to instruct us in our faith. If we deny its authority and sufficiency for the faith, then the standards can change with passing whims.

An example of this, especially with the Roman church, is the recent abandoning of the doctrine of limbo. Biblically, there never was a limbo. Yet, for centuries, the Roman church perpetuated the myth. Then suddenly, a Pope comes along who says it doesn't exist. Why? Because it is a doctrine of man, and not the Word of God.

Without a standard of practice, as described in the Bible, all sorts of heretical teachings abound. This only occurs when the Word loses its primacy in the eyes of believers. It is then that anything goes.

We quote the Bible because it is the only thing that has power. One day, when the Holy Spirit speaks to you, it will be through the Word of God. You can deny it all you want, but the Word is the only thing that the Holy Spirit will use.

To answer your original question and ignore your forum, We constantly quote the Bible, because that is where we come from. The Bible is the basis of what we believe and why we exist. You can say anything you like, but you will not convince us that we are wrong. And we will spend the rest of our lives trying to convince the world that we are right. That is who we are.

We quote the Bible because it is the inspired word of God. Everything else is just religion.

...Gods Word is for you to learn and understand as His Spirit will teach you... "religion" it seems has brought you much anger and discontentment...
Gods Word has gone unchanged and is a solid foundation for a relationship to be developed with Him...
The teachings of the Roman Church are sadly mis-guided in their attempt to keep their "religion" under the authority of a "man" of whom "they" call infallible; which is imposable, save Christ....
