Is there a dog breed that you would never own or that you dislike? Everyone is always asking which dog breeds are their favorites so I thought I would switch it up.
Thanks !

for everyone who dislikes pit bulls and other bully breeds, I encourage you to take a look at this website. It dispels many rumors and myths and the beeds.

I don't really dislike any breed. I tend to favor the medium to lager breed dogs because of my lifestyle. I live on a farm and having a tiny dog running through the fences would not be a good idea.

I also don't like certain dogs because of their personality, not what they look like and not because of what other people have said about them.

Breeds were developed to fulfill a need. Some are good at herding, some are good at catching rodents, some are good hunting or working and some are bred solely for human companionship. Each breed has characteristics that make it special. The question is not which breeds are more likable or dislikable but which breed is best suited to an individual's personality and life style. Dogs I would never own? Why those who would hurt my beloved Chihuahuas not because I dislike them but because my first priority must be the health, safety and well being of my chosen breed.

I would never own a Miniature Pinscher because 99% of them bite at the vet's (I work at a vet), and most of them even bite their owners. About 50% of Chihuahuas I've met bite.

And because of all the medical problems I see due to irresponsible breeding, I'll probably never own a Lab, Golden Retriever, English Bulldog, or Pug (even though I love the look and personalities of these breeds). Also, I probably wouldn't own a Chinese Crested because I don't care for the hairless look, and because the idea of needing to put sunscreen on my dog sounds ridiculous.

There isn't any breed that I dislike but there are some that I would never buy from people such as any "designer" breed because the breeders are the ones being irresponsible. I would adopt one if I found one I loved. though. People can talk about certain breeds acting a certain way but what it comes down to is how you raise them. Some breeds have different needs and if those needs aren't satisfied they will act out. People mistake this acting out as breed standard. I'd be willing to adapt to whatever breed and I wouldn't exclude any from my selection process.

really small dogs like Chihuahua, i don't dislike them, but it's just that it's so small it feels as if you might be able to stand on them, hurt them easily cause of not seeing them. I also don't like Poodle, they sort of look.. different, and... too, circle-ish. And some dogs that have too much fur, and hair. I love lots of dogs though.

Jack Russell Terriors. They are extremely annoying, and very hyper all the way into old age.

any 'giant' breed (Because of their short lifespan) - I like them, but would never own one.

bully breeds (Because of the increased insurance cost and I wouldn't want my breed to get banned and have to give up my dog) - I like them, but would never own one.

"designer dogs" (Because they are mutts that people purposely breed solely for profit. I have nothing against mutts, but I don't agree with purposely breeding them.) - I dislike them, and would never own one from these circumstances. I would own a mutt if I adopted it from the shelter.

i would NEVER have a corgi, not even if it was given to me for free, i was bitten quite badly by a jealous male pet corgi when i was about 3.
i am not keen on Rotties they look like tanks and i just have a distrust of them.
i do beleive though that some dogs labelled vicious have a bad press, and it is down to the owners care etc...

Owner of German Shepherd ( past and present) on 2nd one now..They have both been sweethearts, mind you i do treat my pets like my babies..lol

Yea, the one with the mustache. I've always hated them. The reason I don't name the breed?

Because animals that ugly don't deserve a name.
