I have been in hospital a few times. At eight to have my tonsils out, then at eleven due to suspected appendicitis. There was a long gap until I was twenty-five and I went into have my wisdom teeth removed, again at twenty-six due to a DVT. At twenty-seven, I was in twice, once with a gallstone attack and the second time to have my gallbladder removed. At twenty-eight I had to have my jaw broken and wired, I had an undershot jaw. The last two times were for the same thing pulmonary embolism at thirty-one and again at thirty-three.

So far approximately 600 times in the last 10 years. Thankfully none have been for an illness. I work in one.

Only time I've spent a night in hospital when I wasn't working was to witness the birth of my son.

I was born at home by accident, and the ambulances were on strike that day. As I was healthy, I wasn't taken into hospital.

So in answer to your question , once! When I was nine, I stayed in hospital for 4 nights after a branch fell off a tree and 'skewered' my thigh. I was horse riding at the time, and in the process of falling off I also gained some almighty concussion. Still you have to laugh don't you!

Three or four times.

I chopped off the tip of my right little finger in a weight machine when I was about 13. I had to have to surgery on it to have a piece of bone taken out. I can remember if I really stayed overnight or not.

I had surgery on ingrown tonenails, I was about 16.

I broke my knee in an auto accident in 2002 and had two surgeries for it and stayed overnight in the hospital both times.

Probably well over a year, total time. I have had seven major surgeries and life threatening complications. Now I have to go into the hospital every six months to have bands put on esophageal varicies. I usually need to stay in hospital at least 3-4 days. I used to be very afraid of needles, now I don't even give them a second thought. My most used line, "Are you going to put me to sleep for that?" It helps to keep a sense of humor.

4 times so far. Twice when my 2 kids were born, once when I had gallstones removed, and once when I had kidney stones removed. And in Nov, it'll be a fifth time when my third child is born.

Once, fractured my ulna & radius when I was 12, they kept me overnight.

Re fractured it a week after the cast came off, they didn't keep me that time. Always thought that odd.
