Jhn 10:30I and [my] Father are one.
Jhn 10:31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
Jhn 10:32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?Jhn 10:33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
The Jews Know he said he was God. Look into all the tings he said he did like forgive sins. Only GOd can do such a thing.
But He was also a man.
Hbr 2:16For verily he took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham.
Hbr 2:17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
If you do a study you will see that Jesus is both man and God at once it is a bit difficult to explain here. But remember this A God big enough for our minds is not big enough for our needs.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Any one who says the bible does not say Jesus is GOd has not read it read above and tell me what the bible just said.
God bless

God = 3 Persons (God the Father, God the Son [Jesus], the Holy Spirit)
God the Father (the first Person of the Trinity) sent Jesus (the second Person of the Trinity).

well i don't really know about this. But i think maybe he's really playing mind games with us.. Look at your question. Why do God makes us so cofused with a short sentence like that??
Why Jesus is God? Why don't his Father?? His father of course is more powerful than him, isn't he?
if you observe about it more or you read again the bible, i'm sure you will find another confusing sentence.
so the conclusion of your question (why do we think he is God) is because you and them just follow somepeople's belief.
but it's my opinion. you may trust or not.
and actually i don't believe in Jesus.
if you still confused about this all, I suggest you to change your religion!
;)

We think Jesus is God because well over one hundred passages in the Bible clearly teach this. If you would like some study helps on this issue you can email me and I will direct you to some good resources on the Internet. Jesus said his father sent him because this is so. Although the Bible teaches that there is only one God the Bible also teaches that there are three persons in the godhead. The Son is functionally subordinate to the Father but ontologically equal. Email me if you want some good Bible study links on this topic.

If your dad is English! what would you be! French! Russian or English?
the Father of Jesus is God! What would Jesus be?
FYI, It has been written that when Jesus was on the cross, he screamed of pain and called upon God and Said:" Abba" which means father. So, Jesus did say he was the son of God, among many other times.
Get the Point!

no mind game - it's a hard concept to understand. One God - three persons - God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit.

Just think of it the same as, Satan,(the father), sending his son,(Charles Darwin), to earth to represent himself in the flesh. That should clear up any confusion about what Jesus said and meant by that statement.

Jesus ALSO said, "I and the Father are One. If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father."
There is only one God. Christ was God on earth.
Trying to wrap a human mind, which is finite, around the essence of God, which is INfinite, is like a newborn trying to perform brain surgery. Can't be done, so don't try. ;-)

What did you think "omnipresence" meant?
Oh, the bible doesn't say God is omnipresent? Well, there are many words NOT in the bible, like the word omnipresent, but if you would practice a little reading comprehension, (perhaps your local Sylvan Learning Center can help you with that), you would see clearly God is omnipresent.
