Although I don’t think it should be a matter of dispute and anger, those titles are usually reserved for amorous relationships (if you name him that way, what would you say when you are really engaged in a serious relationship? – to differ from a friendship)
Now, he knows you like him and the fact that you are using ‘lovely’ titles may be a interpreted as a persistence to engage into a undesired relationship. If he allows you to carry on, it might actually sink in and ‘normalise’, in which case may acknowledge the existence of ‘something more than friends.’
I would refrain from this as if this causes irritation as it is causing a contra-effect and let time tell; otherwise, you may lose him altogether.

You answered your own question but just are too close to see it.
He only wants to be your friend as a result of your nagging?
He called you when he was drunk (and horny) and was giving you a mixed signal and wants you to spend the weekend with him?
I hate to tell you but he's trying to do a booty call and when you have sex with him he will "change his mind" and not want to date you anymore.
Sorry, but that's the reality of it. I used to be that way but grew up and realized how hurtful it is.
Find someone else that will treat you like you deserve to be treated. It may take a bit but you will find that person.

He wants to be more than friends. He may not be willing to admit it, or he may just not want to lose the friendship that you have, but he wants more. Keep plugging away. He'll give in eventually. Or what you can do is when the 2 of you are together, grab him and kiss him on the lips. If he really only wants to be friends, you may or may not put your friendship ion jeopardy, but if he wants more, you'll find out then.

We men sometimes (probably always) are afraid of any kind of relationship that has the little smell of commitment. So, probably He actually wants to have a relatioship with you but maybe he is to afraid to accept it or maybe he is just insecure of your true intentions (evan if you have told them) and he is afraid of been hurt at some moment... Then, He could be trying to be sure of you in order to decide...

Well, for the first point, he was drunk, right? You do anything when you're drunk. XD
Second point, it doesn't have to mean anything. Maybe he just likes your company.
I think it's best not to take it too seriously yet until something rather noticable happens.

He wants to know if you still have feelings for him. Maybe he wants to make something clear. I say next time you talk to him tell him why! Maybe he changed his mind, he likes you now or he wants you to stop. Best of luck!

Because he wants to be your friend, not your darling, hun, or babe.

Cause maybe you he wants you to stop calling him that! He must be one of us folks who thinks if we're just friends then we should just use normal names and stuff. So if you KNOW he just wants to be friends maybe you should stop using those phrases around him.

He is lonely and needs company. but may not want anything more than friend with you. If you hv not say "No" to his request before, try it and see what happen.
My advice is leave him and find someone better.
