For years I have lost, and gained back as much as 5 lbs.
I know its not to much weight, but I need to know if this is healthy, or is it a yo yo diet.

A yo yo diet is when you diet heavily for a certain amount of time and then break it by pigging out, then dieting again, then pigging out... and so on and so on.
The best way to lose weight is to drink loads of water and change your lifestyle.. don't allow yourself to get hungry.... eat plenty of good foods and eventually your body will get used to eating that way. Treat yourself with small quantities of foods you do enjoy such as a small chocolate bar every weekend. Yo yo diets happen because people completely deprive themselves of foods they enjoy when they're dieting. Don't diet!

Look, I keep preaching this to people but they NEVER liaten to me!! There is NO sucj thing as a DIET!!!! When you go on a diet your body does not know that it's on a diet so it goes into a starvation mode and you lose a pile of weight and you also loose nearly ALL your MUSCLE!!! If you eat more than you burn off, then your body is going to store that in the biggest area where fat can be stored, and that place is your stomach! If you do weights you will see a dramatic loss in body fat because when you have muscle that muscle actually burns fat just by being on your body even when you are sleeping!! If I were you I would do weights like Im doing at the moment, it will get you into FANTASTIC shape and you dont have to worry about being a butter ball all the time. A book I highly reconmend is Getting Stronger by Bill Pearl. You WILL NOT go wrong WITH IT!!!

losing a small amount and gaining it back is normal for most people. yo-yo dieting is when someone goes on a diet and loses a lot of weight, but gains it back and more when they stop the diet.

From what I understand losing and gaining small amounts of weight is natural. If this were say 10-15 pounds it would seem more worrisome, however to gain five pounds and then lose it could simply be that you ate fast food once that week and then went on a really long walk, it's natural weight fluctuation.
