Sorry not HID and Xennon describe the same high voltage transformer and blue white light bulbs. The car is specially wired and plugs in the wiring harness for the head light bucket that also has a shutter that opens and closed for high and low beam Because after market kits are out there people beleave lets just install the kit that give only low beam. Another kit is needed for high beam. And from what i have seen regular lighting works just fine as long as the lens stay clear.

"High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps include these types of electrical lamps: mercury vapor, metal halide (also HQI), high-pressure sodium (Son), low-pressure sodium (Sox) and less common, xenon short-arc lamps. The light-producing element of these lamp types is a well-stabilized arc discharge contained within a refractory envelope (arc tube) with wall loading in excess of 3 W/cm² (19.4 W/in.²).

Compared with fluorescent and incandescent lamps, HID lamps produce a far higher quantity of light per unit area of lamp package."Basically Xenon lights are the same with HID lights,no?
