I have lost a total of 120 pounds so far.
I lost 105 pounds in my first 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, only diet soda. Or water.

It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Also start counting your calories. Write them down. You would be amazed as to how much more aware you are of your caloric intake, if you actually write it down. We recently discovered a site that offers a great program that counts calories, as well as keeps track of everything. It allows multiple users, so everyone in the family can keep track. They offer a free 7 day trial, and so far I am very impressed with the product. Try the 7 days and see. It allows you to add the exercise that you do during the day, which increases the amount of calories you can take in. Very Cool!!

Stay motivated, and get up and walk every day. I seriously lost all my weight starting off my day on my walk.

Good LUCK!

To lose 1 pound, you must burn an excess of 3500 calories. Therefore, to lose 2 pounds, you need to burn an excess of 7000 calories in one week. So, first calculate your BMR (the amount of calories you burn per day by simply bieng alive (website below). Then subtract around 300 calories off of that number so that you have an excess of 300 calories a day through diet (of course make sure you eat a proper diet of all food groups in moderation). Then, exercise 5-6 times a week, and keep track of the calories you burn. So let's say you burn 500 calories at the gym and 300 a day through diet is 800. Times 7 days a week that's 5600. So you'd need 1400 calories more in the week (do a longer workout at teh gym a couple of days) to lose those 2 lbs. Also, if this is your first time getting in shape, you'll drop the weight fastre and easier because it's such a shock to your body.

Remember not to eat too few calories because it will have the reverse effect. Good luck! I think your goal is realistic and can be achieved through some hardwork!

1-2 pounds a week is a very reasonable and attainable goal. Watch what you eat as far as calories and also practice portion control. Read labels. Often there is more than one serving per package. Exercise every day especially cardio which burns fat. If you can add resistance training to the mix even better! The key is to burn more calories than you consume. Visit the Weight Watchers website for lots of good tips and information on dieting and weight loss. Best wishes!

Instead of fad diets, stay with foods you enjoy but reduce the portions which will reduce your calorie intake. Treat yourself only occasionally.
Don't snack between meals.
While good fruits are in season you might have enjoy a good piece of fruit instead of a candy etc.
Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. It really does help your body flush away toxins, etc.
Your goal of 2 lbs a week is reasonable. Good luck!

Buy Lipovox off Ebay. Don't crash diet, drink plenty of water, lower your carbs during dinnertime and don't eat anything past 6pm. Cut out coffee and don't drink any diet drinks, they increase your appetite and make you want to eat more.

stop raiding the fridge --- and a good brisk one hour walk every day will help you on your way --- and save your pocket ( which i feel sure the gym won't like me saying ) --- but like giving up anything --- it's all a matter of willpower --- you need to convince yourself that you ' want ' to do it . good luck
