Isn't the answer to your question in your question? God is the most Infinite, diverse, complicated being that has, is, and will always be. God's image is not a look, God's image is who God is. God is a creator, a fighter, a peacemaker, a lover, Savior, a redeemer, a prophet, a fullfiller,a craftsman, an engineer, a teacher, a wiseman, a plant, an animal, a Spirit, a Rock, a rose etc,etc,etc............... God is all. That is why he said take unto thee no graven image. Because God description can never be complete and God's Name can never be named. Read the Bhagavat Gita(Hindu Bible) for a good understanding.

Because it is about the similarities not the differences. The differences are our joy. For instance, If you look at only the positive things in the world you see things in one way and might be happy and see the world as one. Or you might just look at the negatives and get depressed and see only divisions and divide your joy. I have included the solution to depression though.

God is Spirit we are made in the image of His Spirit, which is not a physical image.

We are made in his spiritual image, which are listed in Galatians and can be manifested by man if he chooses.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

God is spirit,no-one cn see god.the image is our emotional relational intellectual and creational image.

It is my opinion that when God created us in His image, he is referring to the spirituality (and potential for spiritual evolution) inside of us. It matters not what we look like on the outside...that is irrelevant. What He gifted to us is the capacity to rise above (or transcend) our physical being, and unite with something greater. He gave us the capacity to love.

we do all look alike! every person, has two arms, two legs, a nose, a mouth, eyes, toes, fingernails, etc. just because there are slight differences in our color and shapes, we are all alike!
