What is the formation of a fire team at a door, during house raiding?

we used a 4 man flood, the first guy would usually have a m4 but switch to a shotgun dependant on the situation with noncombatants in the houses.

It depends upon the theatre of operations, and the expected resistance.

Generally, one person on the ram (to force the door open), two on either side as first entry (one before the other for narrow doors). At least one person covering rear and flanks.

Other than that, larger teams would have more people ready to flood in and do area cover. Smaller teams would have to make do with the personnel they have.

not in the military but when I dabbled in police work they made us use a four man group entering the room when we leaned back. the first one in went towards the side of the room where the door would open (if the door swings to the left he goes right and vice versa) with the next two alternating directions. each new room we would slice the pie to gain the greatest sight picture then enter, making sure to get out of the doorway as quick as possible.
