Is it normal when all of a sudden I see clips of things I regret in the past that make me cringe? I can't really describe it, but its like a clip of something that happened. For ex. when I walked in on my sister and her boyfriend. It really traumatized me and that picture just pops up into my head and makes me sad. Or when I did something embarrasing. I do have depression, does it have anything to do with that? I sound like I'm nuts, don't I?

Yeah, the sister thing happened like 3 years ago and I can't get it out of my head. Everyday it bothers me, by the way what does G.P. stand for?

You don't sound like you're nuts at all. I went through all types of awful stuff between being about 16 and 23 and ended up with the exact same thing you're experiencing. For me it was a way of repenting for things I'd felt bad about that I'd done, by punishing myself with thoughts that made me feel bad. In time I came to my own realisation without help. Like others have said on here - you're here today which means that you can make your life what you want it to be, it's never too late! You'll be fine I just know it !!

Those are just mental image pictures. Pleasant memories are stored in the Analytical mind, but painful (physically or emotionally) memories are stores in the Reactive mind and they can affect a person negatively.
You can, however, get relief from their effects.
Here is a link to a page about How the Mind Works with illustrations or photos (the above info is from the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health and is also on this page):

We see things and attribute it to our own life experiences, but if you are seeing actual pictures, then you may be experiencing some sort of Psychosis. Go and see your G.P for some advice. For many people this just goes away, but without treatment/therapy it can get alot worse. Seek help as soon as you can!! Good luck xx

Happens to me all the time.
You just learn to compartmentalize that sort of thing. That is also one of the functions of religion - the idea of formal repentance seems to help clear those kinds of feelings. If it gets really bad, just try to reinvent yourself (become the person that you want to be, and get rid of all that emotional baggage).

It could be your depression acting up. See that it's nothing you can change, and that it never really affected anything. You're still alive.. which means you still have the opportunity to live YOUR life the way YOU want to.

It happens to me too. Especially when I'm trying to fall asleep. I try to quickly think of happier things. Good luck!
