I am naturally thin, and I have never worked out my stomach, I was wondering if it will have a difference if I do.

A general upper body workout including abs will improve your running.

Yes, you need to work on your abdominal muscles along with the rest. If you have good abs and core muscles you will reduce the chances of having problems with other muscles. People often over develop the major muscles and will have injures because they do not develop the secondary muscles. If one side becomes too strong then the others will cause you problems and pain. When we stand and walk or run we are working on our back muscles. Often people with back pain have weak abdominal. Try to do something for your complete body along with stretching because running shortens the muscles.

Yes as strong core is required for running, it will help hold you steady easier leading to a more efficient running style. Running itself will work your core and abs but obviously if you work them seperatly they'll be stronger and so will make running easier.

Yes it will help. You abdominal muscles are right in there with your diaphram. Stronger abs, mean a stronger diaphram, hence better breathing, hence better running.

What do you mean HOW? Just start doing sit ups and different positions until you feel the BURN! This should help your running!
