Has anyone ever used syrup of ipecac?

You know the stuff that parents keep in the house to make the children vomit incase their child ingest something poisonous. I’ve read that doctors are recommending against using it. Not to mention some parents have abused it in cases of child abuse.

Has anyone ever given it to their children becuase they ingested something.

always call poison control first before you ever use ipecac. There are certain times when it is indicated for use and other times when it should not be used at all and can be very dangerous if it is used.

this hasnt been used over in the uk for decades as it is dangerous
