I know! I know!!! I know!! Can I tell you?? Can I?? Can I??
I give an uninformed opinion the same value as God gives it. Nothing. My scripture reference for this is:
Job 38:2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge?
Please note in context that Job has spoken, his friends have spoken, and these are GODS FIRST WORDS in the book of Job. It appears that GOD is saying "Don't speak unless you know what you're talking about."
Am I the only one who feels that there is a WHOLE LOT of this going around? The whole WORLD is FULL of people like this, who don't have a CLUE, but they ARE going to tell you what is right, and they know best!!
BTW, this scripture applies to the whole world, believers or not, everyone is subject to God's laws as surely as they are subject to gravity; whether they believe in it or not.

Good question.
In democratic elections it carries the same weight as an informed or even an expert opinion.
Similarly but less critically for various opinion-taking polls.
On the other hand a dentist's opinion on what should be done to my teeth carries a lot more weight than the combined opinions of those in the dentist's waiting room, however many they are.
And even the biggest collection of opinions, informed or uninformed, doesn't alter facts.
The world didn't suddenly change shape when the majority of the planet became convinced it was spheroidal rather than flat.

I am a Christian Minister
I would normally say that an uninformed opinion should carry no value at all. However!
If you look at a lot of the answers that are given on here by "Christians" (which means they should all be Bible readers) the sad fact is that they prove themselves to be "uninformed".
There are 3 possible answers for this...
1. They infact are fooling themselves and are not really Christians at all (how can one be a Christian "follower of Christ" if they indeed do not know what Christ said?)
2. They only know what the Pastor/Church is teaching them and they are indeed what we call "baby Christians", which must still be fed on the "milk" of the Word, because they can not handle the "whole" word of God.
3. Bible readers do not always mean "Christians". It is with no doubt that I say, many Non-belivers on this site can quote Scripture much better than many of the "Christians" on here, the only difference is that they study the Bible to dis-prove it.

I would think that being informed would be having information in all the disciplines and not blocking off more and more knowledge categories as unthinkable. We're all guilty of that.
It's a shame that hard science really doesn't deal with the hard issues of life. We need to put more money in the life sciences, we already have the bomb and not the maturity to handle it or better, get around using it. It's not smart to argue, really, when our proper role is to put our heads together in other than a butt. The government is emphasizing technology, but as you get more into science you see that as a citizens we need to know more about theoretical science, social science, psychology, and even religion and spirituality than a cursory knowledge. The shame of religion is that they have such a narrow shallow knowledge or their own field, being more the handing down of understandings and "traditions" from the dark ages. The advantage and disadvantage of science or religion is having a book and thinking that understanding is a matter of a collection of facts instead of the free reign of curioustiy to "Try all things, hold fast to what is fine." Science and religion, as life, are full of mysteries. The scientist is wiser in asking the questions and being open to the answers. In religion, prayer has become asking and not listening. With books like "A conversation with God" and the rise in spirituality and new knowledge in every discpline, all that is changing and we're getting up to speed. The common sense is that there is more to life than a mechanical explanation, or else we are only computers. Actually the mind is a computer, but one that connects to the universe and awareness may be more than part of the brain observing another part, but something like an electromagnetic field extending outside the body. That, of course, remains to be seen. It's time to find out about the thinker that thinks about science and how that effects what we see because emotions, philosopy and the ego are twisting all our hard work making it null and void. It's about time we admitted that ego and indoctrinatin are the major players in what we really come up with.

That depends on who, or what, does the informing.
Many Christians hop over on this question and say "God told me", or "The Holy Spirit told me"...and while this cop-out may be frustrating, who can say they're always wrong? Maybe once in a while God does tell them...so the point is moot. And maybe God will do something to back-up someone ignorant, just to prove a point, that no one ought to be presumptuous about what they think they know:
Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?

By uninformed do you imply one who does not believe?
An uninformed opinion can be of great value. While in and of itself it may not be completely relevant, it has a chance of bringing new thoughts to the conversation and can lead to other avenues of thought that may not occur to one who is informed but set in his/her ways.

informed by whom or by what? many times what you call an *uninformed* opinion, will come from someone's heart. this kind of response gives you a better picture of someone's character, attitude, and overall philosopy. *informed* answers are often canned, fake and can be found with a google search.
real people - real opinions...
