there are many cliches but my favorite and most romantic cliche is putting the ring in a glass of champaigne
others ideas would be have it pop up on the screen at a basketball or baseball game; go birdwatching and put it on the end of the telescope thing, so when she looks thru it she sees your note; fortune cookie..

just be yourself and tell her how much she means to you and how much you want to be with her forever.
dont forget to get on one knee.

every woman has a different idea of the perfect way for a guy to propose, but here's the way i'll do it when im older:
first i would set out on my own to find a high mountain/hill relatively close to a camping site. anyways i'd make sure that from the top of the mountain/hill/ you can see thousands of acres all around...(enough to get the 'surrounded by nature' feel). Anyways once i found the perfect mountain/hill top i would make sure to mark it on a map and find a campground nearby.
Soon after, I would plan a trip with her and we'd drive to the campground and stay there for a day or so. DURING that trip, i'd make sure we hiked out to the mountain/hill top i had previously marked on my map and i would bring the ring in my pocket. (i would tell her where we're going; just that we're going hiking)...anyways once we got to the top of the mountain from where we can see the the land all around us, i'd take off my backpack, come up behind her, put her hand in mine and sweep my arm across the horizon while saying something romantic and proposing...(personally i'd go for "everthing you see is touched by my love for there's no place my love for you does not reach. [her name], i know i cannot give u all the earthly thing u desire, but u will always have my love no matter where you go"......good luck finding the right place and the right words!

I like the idea of being wined and dined, then having my man drop to one knee and asking me in front of a whole room of strangers!
I'll grant you it's unoriginal but it's a personal thing.
Maybe you should talk to the girls best friend ask her for some advice, because even if she doesn't know, what sort of proposal your girlfriend would like, I am sure that she would be able to find out.
Otherwise talk to your family, friends and maybe even do a search on Google for proposals, perfect proposals etc as I am certain that would be able to give you at least a few good ideas.

One thing I hate is CLICHES. Be original. Try playing a game of hide and seek(impromtu of course) burst out of a closet with the ring in hand or a great big banner with the question on it. Or you know what? I could paint you something send it over lickedy split and you could give that to her as a gift!

Oh that's so sweet! Give her a really special day. Take her out to a movie and dinner. After that, take her to the park and propose to her there.

a couple I know were walking on the beach. He asked a person passing by to take their photo. As the 2 of them posed on the beach he dropped down on one knee and asked her. The photo person snapped several good pictures. The girl was totally surprised and they have it on film. Awwwwwww. :]

take her to a nice dinner and then down by the beach (or similar) and get down on your knee and ask for her hand in marriage. If she is not the 'mushy" type, then just give her a big kiss and ask her:) Any way that you do it, she will say YES if she really loves you:)

one guy i knew had THE BEST proposal EVER.
in my opinion.
he had "dinner plans" for valentines for them
& remembered he forgot to cut off an appliance in his house.
so they swung by to turn it off & after waiting so long in the car, she came inside to find him.
what she found was a note which led her on a scavenger hunt around the house & eventually to a box. she unwrapped it
(several boxes inside one another)
each box had "will you marry me" in a foreign language.
the last one said it in English
w/ the ring inside.
& when she opened it he got down on his knee & proposed.

Think about what you like, and what she likes.... her hobbies, her interests... her favourite place in the world... make sure it's beautiful but comfortable, but it could be overdone or just a simple place..whatever she likes

I suppose just traditionally, but it really depends... you could put it in the champagne or wine glass ... or something.. but she might choke on it or swallow it and we dont want that !! U could put it in something she really likes.... if you can't think of anything original or fun that she would like, just bend down on one knee.. i actually think thats really romantic :)
