I can't find any information on this anywhere! I try to donate blood every time I can, but I'm preparing to have surgery on my ankle next month. Does anyone know, how soon after my surgery will I be able to donate again? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Contact the blood bank where you usually donate; they will be happy to provide you with information.

Hope your ankle is better soon!

You cannot donate blood for 1 year after surgery.

Ask your doctor. Also, did you know the blood you donate before hand can be used for your surgery, if needed? Good luck with your surgery.

I wouldn't for at least 6 months if not a year. The anesthia for surgery stays in your system for a few months. So I'd wait.
