Last week my cable got disconnected all the way from outside. I thought if I just reconnect the disconnected wire i would have my basic cable back. I did that but my cable still wouldn't come on. I'm thinking it has to do with this lil silver shiny tube looking thing thats screwed on to the outlet. I was just wondering if there was a way to remove this filter because all it does is it will keep on twisting but won't come off. I tried to pull it off too but that didn't work either. So I was just wondering if someone can tell me how to remove this damn thing that would be great....

The most hassle-free, responsible and legal way to have it unlocked is to just pay your bill. It can't be more than the legal fees you'll encounter when the cable company presses charges against you for stealing their service.

That shiny tube is a just filter. Taking it off won't do anything. It is just a filter that helps the internet work faster.

Obviously you still have cable internet, right? After all you are online. So I am guessing you are only paying for the internet and not basic cable?

When the cable company finds that you've been tampering with their equipment, they can press criminal tresspass charges, and probably vandalism charges.

They can also sue you to recover the cost of the cable service you end up stealing from them.

Why not just pay what you owe?
