Mice are cute especially the white ones and insects are sometimes disgusting but not harmful at all

So why are women of all ages so scared of little creatures when they are the ones that scare the little creatures?

I'm a girl an have mice as pets. I have also had rats. So all women are not afraid of them and in addition, I have known plenty of men who are. Also, a poll is a count of who believes one way and who believes the other when asked to decide between two or more choices (for instance, "polling girls- are you afraid of mice?" Yes or no)

I'm afraid of neither. However, you might say that I am afraid of the unknown. For instance - if a mouse is a pet, it's fine. If I see it in an alley I don't know what sort of diseases it's carrying (remember the Bubonic plague) so I don't try to make friends with it. The same with insects. I see a cricket, I take him outside so he can go on. In France, I had scorpions crawling on my ceiling. Those I would not touch as they are poisonous. As a result - I reached for the spray that helped them go to heaven.

So many times asked myself this question but i never got the answer. I am so scared of cockroaches and rats. When i know very well that they don't do any harm.

A good psychiatrist can reveal the answer?

Or God is the final person who can answer?

Because women themselves are complicated big creatures. So must be afraid of small complicated creatures.

Women may be afraid of mice and insects because they have been conditioned since childhood by social norms/roles that they should be afraid. Also, because they are usually the protectors of babies, being afraid of small creatures helps because those small creatures can be harmful to the baby. Small animals and insects also carry many diseases.

Finally, unlike men, women have vaginas, where small insects or even small animals can enter, even though that is very unlikely. This may have biological causes.

I like this answer:
"Because women themselves are complicated big creatures. So must be afraid of small complicated creatures."

It reminds me of the legend of Elephants that fear mice. (j/k - laugh :)

Sorry bro - I'm a woman and not afraid of either so in the future, I'd suggest you alter your statements to 'why are most...' to acknowledge those that don't fall into your pigeonhole.

We can only guess, so let's. Intuition allows you to be more sensitive, activating more of the brain than a less intutitve person. It's probably partly cultural, the idea of it being feminine and less daring, seeing consequences better. Men like to be bold and are curious about these strange creatures and know they are 'supposed' to be courageous and sometimes crude along with it. And too we are told at least a million times to be careful and not always of what, just be careful. Something crawling on you beneath your cloths or in the dark is hard to identify and get off. Some are dangerous, fear of the unknown. You can get prepared for something moving slowly or far away. Bugs seem to touch our sensitive skin sensors for finer sensations and may be closer to our imaginative or maybe refined senses. Germs even get under our skin. Being interested in and knowing more about insects and germs gives you more a sense of the relative danger and harmlessness as well. Like germs for instance. They literally get under your skin. But we actually need them, just not enmass and out of control. They are food for our immune system and teach it the difference from friendly human cells and potentially harmful bacterial cells. The immune system even seems to like the variety and new experiences just as we do. Life seems to be more than just a mechanical explanation tells us and we deal in information, consciousness and awareness also. There seems to be an intelligence and design in nature as well as a mechanical side. Women seem to be and are allowed to more aware and sensitive to these things. Awareness and consciousness studies are only now coming to the forefront as we need to know more about ourselves. Having sensitivity and not understanding what we sense is a scary mix. Because of that and the complexities of life, the physical sciences have stayed away from these areas as they seem complex and put a strain on mathematical formulae, but Quantum Physics is now dealing with probability and handling random and larger amounts of data that they shyed away from before because the where, "not quantifiable" and too mysterious. We like certainty and a false sense of security. How many male psychics do you know of? Women seem to have a feel for things outside the normal and altered mental states. Men are content to feel they understand gravity by only naming it when gravity and attraction makes no sense to me as you can't weigh it or even find what it is. The easy solution is not to ask. Not having a knowledge of what something really is, causes insecurtiy, but to me a sense of curiousity and adventure of a different sort then mountain climbing, the magical universe of the mind and emotions. More sensitivity to phenomeon causew a larger reaction, not less, but with more adaptability when the emotions are understood, so now we are trying to understand them. Insanity, for instance, seems to be getting stuck in a place in the universe of the mind like getting stuck on another planet with no way back. When we can navigate states of consciousness better, they won't be scary, but fun. We are all still small children when it comes to emotions and maybe science should never have given us a bomb before we even understood ourselves. Fear and love seem to be the main altered states of consciousness and have slighly different rules as do our inner and outer universes.
