We've been friends for three years. We have a tradition that we hug for holidays, goodbye before a vacation, and anytime I have to go into the hospital. So today when I saw him I asked for my bye-see-in-two-weeks hug. He gave it to me. Then he went somewhere and when he came back by, he asked for another one. I was at work so he reached over the counter. I said you know I do all my loving from the end of the counter. So he came to the end of the counter, passing by a lady and saying excuse me.(...which is English for get out of my way...isn't is?) He acted like he really wanted that hug so I gave him a little kiss to. He had a gleem in his eyes when he left.

So do two hugs mean anything or is it just friends?
And before you ask...Yes I like him-like him.

My guess is he has been interested in you for quite a long time and does not think that you are interested in him. And probably has been trying to find some way to break the friend barrier.

Throw the guy a bone and try letting him know your interested in him as more then friends.

He liked the first hug and clearly it wasn't enough.

Since two hugs are not part of your long-standing tradition, it does seem that he has changed the pattern already. Perhaps this friendship is destined to move in another direction at this point.

You don't mention any activities you do with your friend other than hugs. Are there any? Do you only see him at work? You might consider asking him to do something else with you. Go on a picnic. Take a walk in the park or a hike in the woods.

something about that hug was different from all the others and maybe for the first time he felt you like a woman, instead of like a female friend.

it is possible he saw/felt you like a women before , but suppressed/ resisted his feelings.

i think the cat is out of the bag now.
