This one time I had a bag of chips and I traded it for a pop.

This really happened, its my favorite story to tell, but my family thinks its really dumb.

Is it good or am I just fooling myself? Please be honest.

"That's it? It was pointless, it was stupid, it was ... short ...
I loved it!!!"

I reckon you don't have many stories to tell then... oh well, better that than absolutely nada. Storytelling is becoming a lost art. Think about making it sound more exciting, though... how did you feel about it? Did you regret? Was it worth it? What kind of pop was it?...etc...

I am guessing the point of your story is that you lead a very boring life?
Or how about you don't like to hear stories and this is your way to shut the "Story Time" down..

Did I get it?

To be frank, I don't get what the point of the story is supposed to be. Is it supposed to be funny? Impressive? Maybe your family is confused about why you are telling it.

What's wrong with that? I'd gladly trade my chips for caffeine any day.
