Yes and no it hard if you have to walk up hill and it's hot. But it is best to be in shape before you start. Maybe you will get to be the person at the post office selling stamps.

Benefits are good, pay is just "OK". My cousin was a mailman for years and he has a nice home and drives nice cars. He retired early and seems to live fairly well. My husband, the college educated guy works hard and he is an executive. We may have more money, but our benefits stink and he'll never get to retire early. In fact, we have no retirement plan at all. But, I think my cousin was lazy, just like the other person who posted ahead of me said. He didn't aspire to anything much. I'm tremendously proud of my husband, his intelligence and what he has achieved. He is never bored and has been promoted and his job is challenging.

You need to lift 50 pound and some male bags are heavier so if you are short dumping them on a table can be too much. If you ask a man to help they will act like you shouldn't be getting paid because they are taller so can dump on a high table easier and will push you aside and do it rather than help you like in the rules. My mom worked in a air mail facility for 20 years and is under 5 feet so that was the hardest part. She got paid more than any men on her shift because she took test and handed registered mail and things they weren't qualified to do.
Other than dealing with male co workers it was a good job.
