A former friend of mine asked me to put some of her belongings in my house. Later, she got beat up by someone & I felt sorry for her. She just got out of the hospital, & I asked her to pack her stuff & leave because I found out that she was doing big time dirt behind my back, & I found out the proof. Her stuff is out of my house. Problem is-she won't leave, & she's saying things to make me angrier. Is there any way I can solve this problem without the police getting involved? I don't want to get arrested for disturbing the peace, when someone is in MY house & won't leave. The ONLY reason I let her in my house is to get her stuff. She's pointing her fingers in my face & she calls herself, trying to intimidate me. I don't want to hurt this chick. She's not worth me going to jail for, but I want her out of my house, & I don't want the police to get involved. But I'm about to hurt her seriously!

The police are there for you to use when you are in the right. We pay lots of taxes for this service. Use it, you are paying for it.
No good deed will go unpunished.

I learned in therapy to immediately remove myself from the situation if I feel I am becoming angry, to go off by myself and analyze the situation for no less than ten minutes and to reapproach it rationally, being careful not to magnify the situation and not to respond defensively.
I understand that you don't want to call the police because she is a friend and you probably have mutual friends but you have a right to the peaceful enjoyment of your premises. I'd cool down and come back and nicely ask her to leave, if she doesn't do it then she's not much of a friend, perhaps you could walk her out and lock the door behind her. Sometimes an eruption serves its purpose and accomplishes your need, but you lose dignity and often are made the bad guy (gal) even when right. I would implore her to leave and if she won't perhaps you could invite some other friends over and you could all nicely walk her out. Good luck.

If your former friend has been living in your house for three month or more the law is that she has the right to stay in your home until she finds an apartment of her own. If you get the police involved there is nothing they can do to remove her from your home. You will be asked by the police to take it to court. But if that is not the case I suggest you leave your home immediately and go to the nearest police station and file a report and have her physically removed from your home. Don't take the law into your own hands. Good Luck.

First of all that girl has no right whatsoever to be in your house once you have chosen to have her thrown. She has no legal claim to your home and has also broken the trust you had once shared. Her actions indicate that she is nothing even remotely resembling a friend of yours and shouldn't be permitted into your home.
To achieve this I am afraid that you must go to the authorities to have her forcefully removed from your property before you or she act out in a way that hurts all parties involved. Having the police invloved may be what she really needs right now. Its better that she go to jail for trespassing then yourself for assault and battery.

Calmly explain that its just not working and she needs to leave. That shouws you amiblically tried to work it out. If she does not leave, you must call the police to enforce it. Like you said, shes not worth going to jail over and when the police get there they will ask you two questions. Is this your house? Yes. Do you want this woman to leave? Yes....and thats it. Shes gone. Either down the street or downtown....wholly her choice.

You won't get in any trouble if you call the police. Go in another room, call the police and tell them there is someone causing trouble in your house who won't leave. If you can, leave and meet the police somewhere and stay out of the house while they get her out. It will not matter what she says to them - neither of you are hurt and she is in YOUR house.

You are within your rights to ask her to leave your house. You can also call the police and have them around while she gets her stuff, just to make sure that nothing happens. Remember to count to 10 before you do anything you'll regret!

If she's in your house you can punch her ( I don't think this will get you anywhere though)...throw her stuff outside one day when she's not there...change the locks...and this may sound silly but if she startes being a b**** just smile and say Im so glad w're friends (say it seriously too)...her reaction will be halarious!

I don't understand why you don't want to call the cops.
You seem to think that by calling them that they will take YOU away. I don't understand why.
It's your house. If you don't call the police, then I really don't know what else to tell you that would quickly & efficiently get her out.
