So Jesus was Jewish and that is probably why he was not baptised as an infant and it was not nor is it now a part of the Jewish custom.

But had he been baptised as an infant would that be Ok to baptise infants then?

OK I am getting tired and cranky and I am going to BED!!!!

There's nothing really WRONG with a baptism on an infant, but it's better to do it when you're an adult, throwing some water on a baby isn't going to change anything and "save him".

I am a Christian.

There is no convincing argument from Scripture to support infant baptism. Supporters of infant baptism often quote Acts 16:14-15;18:8;1 Cor 1:16 where it says that all the members of certain households were baptised. But there is no clear evidence that young infants were included. Jesus was baptised by John on the basis that he was repenting of his sin. Clearly John didn't think that was necessary - but Jesus wanted to set an example.

Yes, if Jesus was baptised as an infant, that means it would be okay, because He never did anything wrong. But He WASN'T. And it is clearly taught in the Bible that baptism is the testimony of a choice to follow God. You can't make that choice as an infant. Your parents can't make it for you. Infant baptism is not Biblical.

You can speculate around all you want trying to keep your traditions. God's Word is clear. Baptism goes with repentance. A person can't force a real baptism on another person. Baptism is a personal choice. This is the heart of the problem with Catholicism, it puts the traditions of men above the bible. Ironically Catholics resemble the religious people that crucified our Lord more than Jews.

I suppose so; but the fact is, He wasn't. Baptism is a symbol of a conscious decision made to put away the person you used to be a live a new life. That's what it's for, and since babies neither have past sins to be covered nor are able to make a conscious decision to be baptized, it is of no effect. I suppose that doesn't make it wrong persay, but it's definitely not Biblical.

Nowhere in scripture does it say to baptize babies. The only baptism were done to people that accepted Jesus as Savior.
Jesus was baptized before He started His ministry by John the Baptist.

Baptism is for believers to go down to death to themselves(under water) and raised to newness of life in Christ.Jesus was dedicated(In Luke) and that's what we should do.Then when we are old enough to really understand we are baptised.

I think it is done that way so you have a choice in the matter. But if you want to go for it.
