I got a myspace bulletin the other day with the biblical quote "If you deny me in front of man, I will deny you in front of my father".
where exactly in the bible does this quote come from? Like exact books and verses if at all possible

Thanks in advance

yes it is a real verse in the bible where Jesus is speaking, and it is in Matthew chapter 10 verses 32 and 33, which says 32: "Everyone then, that confessess union with me before men, I will also confess union with him before my Father who is in the heavens
33: but whoever disowns me before men, I will also disown him before my Father who is in the heavens.

It's kind of scary when you think about it right? Being that soo many people now and days mimic this and make fun of it, and it really is sad to do that and at times there is certain people out there that for some reason are ashamed to study the bible which is also sad, but yes it really is Jesus is being point clearly on this and totally straight foward speaking....I know that when i first heard this verse a long time ago it gave me alot to think about.

You don't have to believe the way your mother believes, some people believe you have to be in church to be a good christian, I don't see how spending your entire life in a man made building brings you closer to God when he created an entire planet for us to be near him in. When your older, you'll find out every person has to find their own way, you can never learn about God through man, God will reach you in other ways and become more real to you than anything told to you or imposed on you. You mother has nothing to do with your relationship with God or your faith, if she assumes her way is the right way than this should show you already that her opinion has nothing to do with faith, any human being who assumes they know the will of God is wrong, and this doesn't mean she's not religious it simply means shes just like the rest of us, flawed and human. Bide your time, some parents believe that you must mirror them in all ways in order for you to be good, its just a control issue and has nothing to do with right or wrong, it means they are over protective due to something bad that happened in their life. You can believe your own way and still be Christian, or religious, but before you label yourself the most important thing for you to have is faith. Do not let a human come between you and faith, because she imposes things on you, doesn't mean God would do the same thing. Look around you, hasn't God let you make all your choices even if they're wrong? God doesn't wish to control or force feed anyone anything, he wants us to see the right and wrong ourselves, he wants us to understand things in our own time. Let your mother rant, but I promise you she doesn't know the will of God, you are not going to hell because you don't believe or see things her way, pray by yourself, if you feel the need to, ask God to help her be less controlling and more loving. Ask God to help you through this time and ignore the foolish things she says, she's only human, and humans make mistakes.

Sounds like Vengence. Isn't Middle Eastern faith just so 'Civilized'? Maybe we should kill a bunch of civilians to prove Christ's Truth?
