Religion is a virus ,and as such should be eradicated.
It has brought upon humanity SLAVERY, WOMEN BEATING, WARS, CHILD ABUSE.
HAPPINESS? NO DISPAIR!
It is time to wake up, get rid of the death cult , becasue that's what RELIGIONS ARE A DEATH CULT.

Religions are a terrible thing. Without religion, there would be less than half of the fighting that goes on in the world. Almost every religion gives people unhappiness, but especially Christianity since they believe their god is spiteful.

I am not religious, but I believe Belief and faith (not religon in itself) gives many people happiness. Good on them
Some faiths can also cause stress and unhappiness, if you are gay and a strict Christian Im sure thats not fun.
So I would say (strict) religion can cause unhappiness, if you dont believe you live up to the rulings of that religion, but belief and faith bring many happiness, even in bad times (and that counts for belief in anything, UFOs, psychics, whatever - dont believe any of them personally but that stuff brings comfort to many too)

in some ways i think religion is good cuz without it no one would have beliefs but if we didnt have religion many many more people would be equal with others
