aww sweetie...I kow that this is a hard situation! I guess the only thing you can do is express the fact that you are old enough to make decisions...and that you know right from wrong so they would not have anything to worry about. Going to a public high school will get you more prepared for college and you wouldn't miss out on special events such as prom or graduation. Just sit down and think exactly what you are going to say...emphasize points you feel strongly about...and I hope everything goes alright!

Best of luck

If your parents think it is really bad there you have to try to convince them otherwise in a mature manner.
Have them speak to the parents of your friends who go there. Make sure you have friends who are doing ok though.
Have a friend and his/her parent recommend a couple of teachers from the school who your parents could sort of interview as to what a typical day is like.
Get some feedback from the guidance department as to how many of the grads go on to college or trade school - whatever it is that you will be doing. This is especially important because in college/trade school and in many jobs people have to know how to work in groups which you haven't been doing if you're homeschooled.
Find out if your family can take a tour of the building before the school year starts so they can get an idea of the set-up.
And if you can - ask your parents what their specific worries are.
Good luck!

This might sound biased... but
I personally think that home schools are A.Absolutely no fun B.Not a good soource of new friendships C.Can turn you into a totally independet person and D. Once you been home schooled for a long time... I would think it would be hard to jump into public/private school
In public schools [in my opinion] EVERY school is different academicly.
For example... the school im going to is MAINLY an academic school.. probally 1 fight happens every 5 6 years or so.
While my friend school on the other hand focuses primary on music =)
While my long lost friends school is.. well... the lowest of the lows... its by FAR the WORST probally in the whole state.. [god you should see there bathrooms]
Also public school helps devolope social skills and friendships some may not last as long while others [my dads and moms] can last a life time.
Also in public schools you can learn lessons that you can learn from home schooling but you can not really..... experience them from home schooling.
Public schools also encourage you to make lots of friends [with teachers |if you even like making friends with teachers| and other students]
Also public schools [even though not intended] Can teach you who and what type of people to hang out with
Even at my school [which i just looked up on google [no lie] one of the best in the county] has it bad people and good people. People WILL be mean to you in public school BUT if you have good friends it will not matter
As for home school..... if some one is mean to you on the street... its run back to home and have a nice day =)
Also in public school and private[GOD sorry for not saying private all those times i said public :P i ment public and private] you'll get some life lessons you CANT get from home
You'l also get some life lessons you can ONLY get from home but the majority of my lessons i got from experiences from school =)
[PS. 10 points much appreciated ^_^ :P]

I would tell them that you understand the reasoning behind home schooling, that it keeps you safe and that you are learning things the way that your parents feel are suitable and that you have the advantage of one on one teaching and such. Then I would explain to them that you are pretty close to becoming an adult and rather then be thrown into the college experience with no prior knowledge of social patterns and such you feel that it will be overwhelming for you. Tell them that you would like to ease yourself into the learning process of others by begining at a regular HS.

Also, did your parents attend public school? Appeal to that by asking them what their experience was like, what school dances were like?.....is that where they met each other?...... who was their favorite teacher and why? Then just let it be.

They still have the right to do what they feel is best for you, but maybe by jogging their memory of a teacher that made a difference or an event they enjoyed will make them feel what you are missing out on. If it doesn't work, then you just have to accept it. Good luck!!

look what u can do is talk to yr parents about it. and tell them "just give me 1-2 days at the high school and u can observe it with me. if u think its not good then just make me be homeschooled. but if u like it u have to let me go there." make a contract to make them sign. in the contract write"that if u like it u have to let me go to public school. if u dont like it u can have me homeschooled" good luck!

In eleventh grade you are usually taking some advanced courses. Biology, Trigonometry, Chemistry, Literature, Computer courses. Each teacher in a public school has mastery of one of these subjects and teaches from their knowledge. Unless your mother has 5 degrees, one in math, one in chemistry, one in biology, one in english, one in computer science, then she is denying you a better education. Home schooling is fine in elementary and junior high, when the subject matter is something that the parent can handle on their own. At the high school level, the teaching should be left to teachers who have advanced degrees in their own field.

Ask them can they do this. tell them to no longer use contemporary equipments and facilitys and all and stay life because it became for the time of your mum and dad s mum and dad era. tell them in the event that they could do all that, you will do all they want. may be they stare at you with marvel, that oh my god !
