No, it was fiction!

The bible is a collection of forgeries written by the aristocratic Roman Piso family. It is an astrological book based on sun worship that is coded with numerology. It is almost all compete fiction. The uninitiated (superstitious poor people) are to take it literally, the initiated (aristocratic bloodlines, the wealthy) are taught to see the allegories. Take the story of Sampson. His long hair represents the rays of the sun. His hair gets cut, the sun goes down, Sampson loses his strength. The sun (Sampson) travels through the houses of the zodiac and encounters Virgo (Delilah), Leo (the lion), etc.

Where's the line between literal and symbolic in the Bible.
Is just a story.

Christ's Resurrection was literal, the only thing symbolic about it was to show that we will follow likewise, during the day of the resurrection.

Good question, my friend. In fact the whole of the Christian faith HINGES on the RESURRECTION OF JESUS. Like the Apostle Paul points out in the following verses:

"If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And IF CHRIST HAS NOT BEEN RAISED, OUR PREACHING IS USELESS AND SO IS YOUR FAITH. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And IF CHRIST HAS NOT BEEN RAISED YOUR FAITH IS FUTILE; you are still in your sins." 1. Cor. 15:13-17

Consider that none of the disciples, Jesus' closest friends, believed in the resurrection when they were told. Only after they MET JESUS PERSONALLY were they persuaded. So, it was not just DOUBTING THOMAS, who had problems, but ALL OF THEM.
After Jesus' crucifixion, they all went into hiding, after His resurrection and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, they become so bold that everyone took note of them.

"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and THEY TOOK NOT THAT THESE MEN HAD BEEN WITH JESUS." Acts 4:13

No, it wasn't symbolic. If you read the book of Luke, and then read Luke's subsequent account of Acts of the Apostles, you will see that he was trying to give an accurate historical account (though Luke tended to wax poetic at times). The same with all of the Gospel writers. If you read the gospels it will be clear to you that they aren't poetic or symbolic in nature. They are meant to convey an account of the life and ministry of Jesus for posterity. And there are detailed accounts of what happened following His resurrection. You can argue that it's fiction if you like, but you can't argue that it's symbolic in intention.

Not if you are a conservative or a fundamentalist.

Only liberals think that parts of the Bible are symbolic, and some of those think that the resurrection was only spiritual, not physical.

But the Apostle Paul insisted that the resurrection was literal and physical.

The only people who claims parts of the Bible are symbolic do so out of convenience. They see how ridiculous it would be to claim the Bible a literal truth, because it's a ridiculous piece of literature (Harry Potter has fewer contradictions!).

So theoretically, the answer to your question is yes. In reality, no, because there's no reason for them to write that part off. The parts they claim are symbolic are the passages that tell Christians to commit acts of violence, hatred, and archaic acts.

If Jesus didn't literally rise again from the dead, then we're all dead too, with nothing to look forward to but the grave.

If he did rise again, just as the Church and the Bible state, then it's very likely that you will one day, be spending a lot of quality time with Satan, the devil.

even symbolism has basis in truth. but it is kind of hard to be symbolic in the face of 500 witnesses and an empty tomb. and why is it so easy for you to say what is symbolic? neither you nor I were there, but it was not symbolism that spoke into my heart that made me believe. funny thing is this....why would people give their very lives for a symbolic idea? why would they go into all parts of the world and put their lives in jeopardy and danger for symbolism? why would they hold onto a symbolic idea in the face of lions in the coliseum and face torture for something symbolic?

No way to tell, except that there is no satisfactory evidence that the "resurrection" was in any sense real.
