How long has this been going on?
If it's a sudden change take him immediately to a vet, it could be a blockage and potentially an emergency.

If this is a chronic problem, consider X-rays. It will show any "structural" problems with his digestive tract.
Also consider blood work. He's super young for most health problems, but blood work shows organ function and tests for some of the more obscure diseases.

Giant breed dogs can be prone to stomach problems.
If you see any of the following, RUN to a vet.
He seems bloated around his tummy.
He starts having diarrhea (with the vomiting it's a sign of blockage)
Blood in poo or vomit (obviously)
Signs of pain-panting, drooling, whining, or lethargy

It all depends on whether it is a female or a male, with the females obviously being the smaller of the two. When they are full grown(remember that the females do not mature fully until age 2 to 2 1/2 and the males until age 2 1/2 to 3), the females usually weigh between 135-150 and the males between 150 and 165. Needless to say, you will find some males will weigh 185-200 pounds and some of the females may weigh 120-135. Bigger is not necessarily better. If they are too heavy, it is hard on their joints. While they will have some fat, you should be able to feel their ribs.

Hi Jason, I don't have much of an idea on this one for u but was wonder'n if u knew u posted this in the cat section ;)

I guess it would depend on how long he's been doing it. If this abruptly started it could be a condition called bloat, a fatal twist of the bowel but if this has been going on for a few days or more then thats not the case.

Have you tried feeding him in smaller amounts? I would try that & see if it helps. You may also want to get him on lamb & rice of any brand (Pedigree works good, but other brands have this too)

While most of this has been cleared up by now, do keep in mind too about the pet food recall, that was one of the symptoms.

He could have also swallowed something & is causing an intestional (even if partial) blockage.

Try feeding him smaller amounts, if you do get the lamb & rice DON'T suddenly switch him, gradually mix it in with the old & stick to the smaller amounts. Wish u & your pooch the best.

It may be nothing or may be something...get it checked out like you plan

Usually a pet that vomits its food that soon after eating has a blockage of some sort. Since all pets like to chew things, they can also chew them up. They can also get hair balls in their stomach too, especially cats but so can dogs. Have you noticed if he is having good bowel movements daily. Usually puppies should have 2 or 3 a day, but definitely 1 good one depending on what kind of food you are feeding him. I would be highly concerned with his condition and I would contact your vet immediately. Any vomiting even once in a pet is a sign of something wrong.

What food is he on? Some foods (mainly cheap super market brands, but a couple others) use a ton of fillers and by-products, so he may eat a lot to fill himself up, especially being such an active breed. Does he drink water around the time he eats? If so, those willers easily expand in water, litterly growing in his stomach, creating pressure and causing him to vomit. If it isn't that reason, go to the vet to clarify.

How did a St.Bernard get into the "Cats" column? Anyway, glad you are taking him to the Vet. Always best when pets have problems. Quick rice is a good tummy settler for pets - but do not put milk in it! Instant rice (white) works well, made with water and no salt! If he's hungry he will try it.

it sounds like you need to get him to vet ASAP! in large dogs, they can twist their stomachs, or he could have eaten something that's blocked him up...but vomitting after every meal, soon after sounds like something isn't allowing his food to pass.....CALL YOUR VET
