Illegal immigrants are no more or no less than anybody else in this country or any other country! I have spent some time reading some of the other questions and answers in this area and I have seen some of the most ignorant and racist people. And in case you guys are wondering, I was born in California and come from a Mexican family. Both of my parents are illegal immigrants and my 21 year old sister just earned her citizenship not too long ago. She graduated from high school with a GPA of 4.66 and just graduated from CSUCI with a BA in psychology. She is now paralegal and has recently been accepted into law school. What I want to ask is what makes you different from an illegal immigrant? Is it just the simple fact that you were born here and we weren't? Is it some of the crimes that immigrants do that makes you dislike them? Just as every race does. Aren't we all human? or no?
* And please no rude and/or unnecissary anwers. That just shows stupidity and ignorance towards yourself.

Answerer #1: Your right, there is a percentage of immigrants who are againts following the law...obviously! Just like there is white, black, asian, and every other race out there.

Answerer #2: Yes my parents broke the law, but wouldn't you do the same for your children? Put yourself in their position, easy for you to say.

Answerer #8: I did not mean to be racist AT ALL. Some of the nicest people I know are white. But the reason I used the word white was because America's race seem to be the "white" race right? right.

Answere #13: I know my "thinking represents the extreme minority opinion among Americans of all," but we all have our own opinion and this is my little grain of sand that I am contributing.

I understand people are againt ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, and not legal immigration. Then why not let illegal immigration be legal so they can pay taxes and do everything else, what-you-guys-call "normal", Americans do?

I would say the main problem with illegal immigration is the illegal part. The do what you can to help your family is really overplayed. The end never justifies the means when doing things that are illegal or immoral. As for you sister, good for her. Working towards her citizenship was a good choice and getting a degree was even better. I am a little curious how she got a 4.66 in a country that uses a 4 point grade point average system. I guess maybe that was a typo. Get your citizenship and become legal and I will have no problem with you. And before you go playing the we all commit crimes card know that I do not speed, and I do not appreciate those who do. I obey the laws to the best of my knowledge and wish that those around me would do the same.

It is not a white thing, but hispanics insist that it is. I am a person of color just like you. I am against unrestraint illegal immigration. Let's look at it from a different perspective. If millions of arabs kept coming into the country illegally, hispanics like all others Americans would stand for what is right and oppose it.

It is the same. Yes, some folk throw in race. Yes some folk throw in their ethnic superiority. With that being said and understood, no country can house all of Latin America, verdad!

Ignore stupid folk. Not everyone needs to go back or should, but many needs to be deported. This is a fact, not a statement based on race.

I believe that any naturalized American, white, brown, black, or any other color should be against , and the key word here is "illegal immigration" of people from anywhere. Illegal means that it is a crime, get it, that's the law as put fourth by the legal citizens who vote for lawmakers. coming here illegally is a slap in the face to Americans. The unfortunate thing here is that the largest percentage of illegals are from Mexico, is it that Mexico is so bad or is it that America is so great? Maybe these people should try to patch the holes in the boat before jumping ship if you get my meaning!

Why do you assume that it's only the "white Americans" who are against illegal aliens? I'm not white but I'm American and I'm 100% against illegal immigration. I am a legal immigrant and also grew up in Cali. What makes my family and I different from illegal aliens is that we were legal immigrants who followed the law. Illegal immigrants broke the law to be here. It's unfair to people like myself who did it the right way. There are millions of people all around the world who would love to immigrate to the U.S. What makes illegal aliens entitled to the same opportunities as legal ones? Illegals committed a federal crime! They are criminals! Why don't we let the whole world immigrate to the U.S. without any document. Don't you think it's important to keep track of immigrants in our country? Come on. Get real.

First off, where did you get your data that most white Americans are so against immigration? That is race baiting, not to mention that your main quesiton is about Immigration, then your follow up finally mentions illegal immigration.

Now,
I am an American citizen, and I am against illegal immigration because of the first word, illegal. An illegal immigrant has broken the law first and foremost by crossing our border without permission. How is this any different from a burglar coming into your home? An illegal immigrant then most likely obtains work or social services as the expense of Americans. Just like the burglar is entering your home to obtain your personal property.

That is why I am against illegal immigration. It is also why I wrote letters to my Senators recently urging them to vote againt the Immigration Reform Act of 2007 because it would have granted amneswty to the illegal immigrants already here. Would you like to say to the burglar who just took your property that it is OK, go ahead and keep it, and by the way, here is the combination to my safe so you can get my gold too?
I don't think so.

It's not just white Americans. It's Americans, period. 99% of us or our descendants immigrated...legally!

Illegal immigrants don't pay taxes; they are 3 times as likely to commit crimes; they use our services but don't re-contribute. They send our money to foreign economies. They have no incentive to follow our laws because they are, by definition, criminals.

I love the Mexican and Central American immigrants I've worked with and lived near. They work hard, they are friendly, and they contribute. It's not racial. Immigration has to be checked and regulated, just like anything else, and hispanic illegals represent the largest group. I know that many illegals just want to work. It's sad, it's unfair, but that's just life. America simply cannot afford a welfare state.

And remember: you're thinking represents the extreme minority opinion among Americans of all

The racism charge is a canard used by illegal aliens and their allies to turn the argument in their favor. Enforcing the law is not racist.

All nations, not just the US have the right and responsibility to control and protect their borders on behalf of their citizens. This includes controlling who comes here and who doesn't.

Illegal aliens break the law by being here. They circumvent established process and procedures to do it. Mexican illegals come here not because they want to be Americans but because they can't get a break in their own country. If Mexico would ever get it's act together the illegal immigration problem would go away on its own.

As a White American, I am not against immigration. Just illegal immigration. My family came to his country legally 60 years ago. They followed the rules, were they chumps?

I admire the latino immigrant's work ethic, and strong family ties. What I do question is their allegence(spelling) to our country. Are they here just for jobs, or to become an American?

You state opinions as fact. White Americans are NOT against immigration, they are against ILLEGAL immigration.

There is a BIG difference between legal immigrations and the scum of the earth that come here illegally.

Since your sister is a paralegal she should be able to explain to you the difference between legal and illegal!

Illegals break the laws that they disagree with. What if everyone did the same thing?

For example, if I thought that the illegal invasion of the USA by illegal aliens should be a capital offense, would you agree that I should be able to kill the invaders?

Of course not!

And it is not RACISM! Hispanics are derrived from SPAIN. Which is a "White" race and European!

The use of racism is only by those who have no other basis for their support of illegal activity.

Your parents are criminals. How can you respect them knowing that they are criminals?

You don't seem to understand that many "illegal immigrants" really aren't immigrants at all. Immigrants, traditionally, want to become American. They want to adopt the country has their homeland, and melt into the culture. Does this mean they forget or forsake their traditions - of course not. Most illegals are not here because they want to be American - no - they want American jobs and American benefits. At the end of the day, many will send much of their hard earned wages back to Mexico. This isn't the same as the immigrants of the past that went through the system - waited their turn at Ellis Island and adopted their new homeland.
