Hey Doctor. So for other people who work in the Hospitals where you work. The dirty environment. How would you recommend that they keep everything clean? How often should people who work at Hospitals have to take a shower? How often should they wash their clothes? How often should they wash their bedsheets? Does it help to put mothballs in the vacuum bags? Does it help to vacuum the house every day?

The Cavicide Spray. Why doesn't it state on the bottle that it kills Sabies also?

Also for hospital workers how often do health professionals get scabies? What is the best way to avoid it? Do Doctors get scabies too?

Hello,

I have worked in the medical field for 17 years and have been in hospitals and nursing homes both.

I shower everyday. It think it is best for anyone who lives. I do know that older peoples skin dries out and using soap daily will dry them out more. Most older people choose to wash up rather than shower.

I wash my clothes regularly and do not wear them twice before washing. I wear scrubs. I shower before going to bed and wash my bed linens once a week due to allergies.

I don't know what mothballs would do by putting them in a vacuum other than stinking the house up.

I would vacuum regularly, but you do not have to vacuum daily. You can take your shoes off at the door.

Cavicide kills more than just Scabies. It kills a lot of germs and says so to let you know what it kills. It will kills aids virus too if you read more about it.

I have never got scabies, but I have been to nursing homes that have it. You can get it by shaking hands. Anyone can get it. It is not a "dirty" thing. They take 4 to 6 weeks to develop and makes you have an itchy rash. I just talked to my doctor about them and they have a cream to give for those who have it. They are mites that burrow under your skin and lay eggs and the reason it itches is because they have BM's. It is gross. Never share combs or towels. They like warm areas and can be in your bed and groin and under your armpits and in your hair line. they do not really get on your face. They can be on your hands. Kids can get them at school.

There are many germs in this world. If that is what you are afraid of. Just wash your hands regularly and that should keep you pretty healthy. Do not be afraid of everything you can catch, or you will not enjoy life.

I wash my hands after each patient and I wear gloves. I use universal precautions as all health care workers should do.
I hope my information gives you some insight.

I guess my question for you is what are you really worried about. I have worked in the medical profession for 40 years. I wash my hands all the time, especially in between each patient. I keep my hands away from my face. I take my clothes off when I get home, don't wear them twice. I don't wear any shoes in my house, but especially my work shoes. I don't necessarily shower when I get home. Sometimes I do. Depends on where I have been working. Clavicide spray does not kill scabies. Any one can get scabies and there are specific meds to use if you get them.
