well..next year im going into a high school tht is know for it's drinking habits. My friends tht go to other schools, but are going into grade nine, and are going to this high school already drink. Not often...just once in a while, they'll get together and drink. They don't get drunk or anything. I wanna have a drink like them but i dunno if i shud. My friend and I are planning on hanging out soon, and drinking for the first time, see how it is and stuff. Is that alright? Should we try drinking now or should we just wait until we get offered? or should we not drink at all? one of our friends is REALLY against drinking, and duzn't want us to, but our other friends say it's alright...as long as you don't get drunk. We're 14 btw

No thats unacceptable. Legal drinking age is 21. Wait until then. Don't be a follower, BE A LEADER. Make good choices, this is not a good choice. =)

As a teenager I didn't until I graduated high school, 18.

As a parent of a 15 and 14 year old, I would find it very hard to trust my children ever again, if they told me they were going to hang out with their friends and I said ok. Just to later find that they were drinking.

Actually I can say this already happened at a camp they went to and I did find out. They have not been camping at all this summer they just don't know that I know. I haven't even given them a reason I just keep saying "NO"

I would think hard before making a choice on drinking at 14.

I suggest you wait until you are 21 to drink. I started drinking at about 15- nothing great about it. Most of the alcohol and beer are gross... if you need to experiment I guess we all understand but you need to do you and stand up for what you believe in. I was cooler in high school and college because I did not do drugs and get wasted all the time! Don't be pressured into doing anything out of your comfort zone because when something happens and things do happen then it is your fault and your fault alone!

Hope you make some good decisions!

Yes, so many good things have come from drinking....... NOT. There is a reason that it is illegal for minors to drink. Why don't you drop acid while you are at it? Alcohol is a drug, and an addictive one at that. I know you think you can handle it, but there are adults that can't even handle it. No alcoholic ever started out thinking, "Hey I think I will become addicted to alcohol" And if you are doing it just because of peer presure, then you are a weak minded fool.

The fact that you aren't sure if you should drink means that you are not ready for the responsibility (not to mention that you are underage). Drinking isn't something that everyone enjoys or should do. I bet there is at least one thing your friends enjoy doing that you don't. Don't let someone decide when you are ready to do something this serious. Every person has a different tolerance and reaction to drinking. I never enjoyed drinking, and I have friends who respect my decision to be sober.

No u should NOT drink!! I never thought I could ever get caught either and I did. I got a MIP and had to go to court and had a $300 fine! My parents were NOT pleased. But lucky for me I had a job so I could pay for it and now I know better. You have no job to pay for something like that and it will stay on ur record till ur 21. Also the punishments for MIPs and MICs get worse each time u get caught. If u get caught 3 times u go to jail! Its not worth it!

i live in a neighbourhood like that myself. And around here..it seems normal to drink at such a young age. i bet you prob just got a shock with everyone saying don't do it. i don't think you should do it now. wait till yur older, and then, have yur first drink with yur friends, and becuz yu feel ready. not because evry1 else does it. there are a LOT of consequences for drinking so young, and i bet yu already know them...so..keep what evry1 says in mind...and i hope yu make the right decision

Should you drink? NO!

Drinking is not a game. It's serious business. There's a reason it's not legal for someone your age. The younger a teen is the first time s/he takes their 1st drink, the higher their risk of becoming an alchoholic.

Plus, if ya'll get busted the adult whose home you are in at the time can get in serious trouble. Even if they don't intentioally supply the booze.

It's bad news. Stay away from it, please.

this is not a question u should be asking, being 14 you should be thinking of school. if your friends jumped off a bridge would u follow. let me tell u this u will go farther and become someone if you do what u feel is right not because u want to fit in. i learned that the hard way. if u want to be a follower instead of a leadder then go 4 it but let me tell u this be yourself and u will go father in lfe and they will be nothing. answer your ? be true to yourself no matter what anyone says.
