god allows my cat to eat them, but not before he tortures them for hours. i'm more merciful than god, apparently.

Well, they were given wings, which is neat. And we have reason. Well, some of us do. But we're all going to die, and its no big deal. What does "caring" or "not caring" have to do with anything? It is the way it is.I have no idea who or what or if god really is, but if god is, there's nothing loving about letting us live forever. The earth would have gotten overcrowded centuries ago. And since its unlikely that whatever source we came from has human emotions, there's no point in even pondering the question. Don't worry; be happy!

Sure he does. Scriptures tell us that God cares for all living creatures, this verse specifically refers to the sparrows.
Matthew 10:29
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

Luk 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two assaria? And not one of them has been forgotten before God.
Who provides food for them? God. Who provides the shelter or trees they live in? God. Who keeps them alive, providing oxygen for them to breathe? God. Not one sparrow, nor any creature, dies without His knowing and permission. If He cares this much for small birds, imagine how much He cares for those are His people?

Of course God cares for the sparrows. Just like he cares for every single other thing he created. Just because he loves something doesn't mean nothing bad will never happen. That is called life. It has it's mountains and it's valleys.

i've got faith God cares approximately each and every thing he created, as he made his introduction acceptable...yet he needless to say mentioned in the bible he additionally made those creatures for us to consume...and that's why he made animals without a unsleeping yet he became so diligent in giving them instincts...because of the fact of this why there's a food chain for each animal to outlive ... God is so good :) Take care Brother!
