My cousin's name is Andrew (Andy) and he's 15. I'm Lauren and I'm 13. I really don't know how to greet him and I really missed him. (No I don't want to date him, gross!) I want to seem outgoing, funny, nice and athletic. How do I make myself more interesting when I greet him? Remember I want it to be exicting too!

Thank you so much for your time!

Just greet him the way you greet other relatives, act interested in the things he has done since you saw him last. You are trying to grow up and at 13, remember that you are going through the same teen age awkwardness that he did when he was 13. Just be yourself and be available to talk to him when he wants to talk. He will recognize you and your age and be as friendly as you will be. Take it easy.

Put up balloons and decorations. I mean, who's ever not liked a big greeting?! Does he like dry humor? One time my family dressed up in goofy costumes at the airport to pick up my girlfriend - masks and stuff. She didn't know it was us for a half-second, and couldn't help but laugh! I like the idea of having lots of physical games available too, or tix to a game. Sounds like he's lucky to have you.

Do what we used to do when we were kids and our cousins came down from Michigan (we live in rural North Carolina) every two weeks for summer vacation: We always gathered where ever they were going to stop at (usually our grandmother's house, where they stayed) and ran to the car, opening the doors and hugged them, exclaiming how happy we were to see them and then helped them (well, mostly, we did the work, because they were beat from the trip!) unload the car.

Bake a huge cake, so there will be plenty for everyone, and write on it in frosting, 'Welcome, Andrew and .....(his other family members)' Decorate the cake so that each name is unique, including his. Then when he arrives, bring out the cake, have your mom make some hot coffee and have iced tea and everyone can have a piece of cake.
